Justin Bieber Issues Health Update After Heartbreaking Diagnosis
Justin Bieber has issued a health update after receiving a heartbreaking diagnosis.
Bieber is one of the biggest musicians of the last decade, with huge hits such as ‘Baby,’ ‘Love Yourself,’ and ‘What Do You Mean?’
He’s been in the spotlight since he was 15 years old and is now one of the most scrutinized celebrities.
The ‘Peaches’ artist recently revealed a shocking health diagnosis – and he’s now provided fans with an update.
Bieber uploaded a video on Instagram in June 2022, in which his face visibly twitched. He attempted to smile, blink, and move his face yet one side remained still.
Understandably, this left the pop icon’s fans extremely concerned, with one follower writing: “Sending prayers, get better soon dude.”
Another added: “Sad news. Love you, Justin Bieber, you take all the time you need to get better. Get well soon.”
The ‘One Time’ singer opened up about his diagnosis after he was forced to postpone his Justice World Tour.
In the video, Bieber said: “Obviously as you can probably see with my face. I have this syndrome called Ramsay Hunt syndrome and it is from this virus that attacks the nerves in my ear and my facial nerves and has caused my face to have paralysis.”
Demonstrating the lack of movement in his right eye, he continued: “As you can see this eye is not blinking. I can’t smile on this side of my face, this nostril will not move, so there’s full paralysis on this side of my face.”
Mayo Clinic elaborates: “Ramsay Hunt syndrome occurs in people who’ve had chicken pox. Once you recover from chickenpox, the virus stays in your body – sometimes reactivating in later years to cause shingles, a painful rash with fluid-filled blisters.
“Ramsay Hunt syndrome is a shingles outbreak that affects the facial nerve near one of your ears. It can also cause one-sided facial paralysis and hearing loss.”
Hailey Bieber supported her husband during an interview with Good Morning America, in which she said: “He’s doing really well. He’s getting better every single day.
“He’s feeling a lot better and, obviously, it was just a very scary and random situation to happen but he’s going to be totally okay.”
Although the pop star was optimistic about his health journey, he was forced to cancel the remaining dates of his Justice World Tour in October 2022, having previously canceled 12 dates.
Nearly nine months after opening up about his diagnosis, Bieber took to social media once again and shared some positive news.
In an Instagram story with the text overlay ‘Wait for it,’ he showed himself straightfaced before smiling at the camera.
Needless to say, fans were delighted to see the ‘Yummy’ singer cracking a smile once again.
One person penned: “Wow, Justin looks amazing! So inspiring to see him overcoming his rare syndrome.”
A second said: “I’m happy for his recovery.”
“So glad he’s doing good,” commented a third fan.
Earlier this year, Bieber returned to the stage when performing at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto during the NFL All-Star draft.
Aside from this, there have been other exciting developments in the singer’s life…
Bieber and his wife Hailey welcomed their child, Jack Blues Bieber, on August 24.
The couple shared the wonderful news on Instagram, with Bieber sharing an adorable first glimpse of their son with followers.
We’re so happy to see he’s feeling better!
