Hailey Bieber has caused one hell of a stir online after sharing a snap of the dazzling outfit she wore to her friend’s wedding.
Hailey Bieber is an American model who has been featured in major ads for Guess, Ralph Lauren, and Tommy Hilfiger.
The Rhode founder is also the wife of pop music legend Justin Bieber and often, she’s known to make the headlines when it comes to drama with his ex-girlfriend, Selena Gomez.
In May 2024, the couple announced they were expecting their first baby!
But now Bieber is ruffling feathers with her Instagram followers after turning up to a friend’s wedding in an outfit that breaks all the rules.
Bieber attended the wedding of Stephanie Shepherd, who is the former assistant to Kim Kardashian.
The 34-year-old tied the knot with Larry Jackson, the former Global Creative Director at Apple Music – so as I’m sure you can imagine, there were a ton of celebrity guests in attendance.
Yet many people online were distracted by Bieber’s outfit.
The dress that caused the uproar was a sleek, body-hugging white number that, while stylish and flattering, drew immediate criticism for its color.
Traditionally, white is reserved exclusively for the bride on her wedding day, and guests wearing white are often seen as attempting to upstage the bride or drawing unnecessary attention to themselves.
Some thought it was inappropriate for Bieber to wear white to a wedding.
One person questioned: “Why wear a white dress to a wedding though?”
Another added: “Babygirl, you don’t wear white to a wedding EVER!!”
While a third said: “Who tf wears this to a wedding????”
“You look silly wearing white to a wedding,” somebody else remarked.
One Twitter user commented, “Hailey should know better than to wear white to someone else’s wedding. It’s the bride’s day to shine.”
Another remarked, “Wearing white to a wedding is a huge faux pas. It’s basic etiquette that Hailey, as a public figure, should be aware of.”
But not everyone criticized Bieber’s outfit, as many took to the comments and shared nothing but praise for the look.
Kylie Jenner wrote alongside a ton of heart eye emojis: “Oh.”
Singer Justine Skye commented: “Hot.”
While another wrote: “So pretty – you looked gorgeous lady, night babe.”
“Confirming you somehow looked even more fab in real life,” added another.
An Instagram follower wrote, “If the bride and groom were fine with it, why should anyone else care? Hailey looked beautiful, and that’s what matters.”
Another added, “Fashion rules are evolving. Let’s not be so quick to judge without knowing the full context.”
Bieber attended the wedding in a crisp white Mortal Holy Grail dress, courtesy of the Vietnamese brand Fancy Club, as per Elle.
Her ensemble, which was styled by none other than celebrity stylist Dani Michelle, was completed with a Bottega Veneta Jodie bag and Femme LA mules.
While Bieber’s husband opted for a white shirt and slouched black trousers, which the ‘Baby’ singer donned with a pair of chunky black Prada loafers.
