Kanye West Releases Statement Amid Rumors Of Divorce From Wife
Kanye West has released a statement amid rumors of divorce from his wife, Bianca Censori.
News broke on Thursday that the ‘Runaway’ rapper and his Australian wife had split up, with initial reports shared by the Daily Mail and TMZ.
The Daily Mail claimed an unnamed source ‘close to’ West had revealed the couple’s split and a legal filing for divorce would follow.
TMZ cited the Mail as the source, adding that both parties had contacted divorce lawyers.
After hearing such reports, fans took to social media and shared their feelings online, with one person writing: “This took her way too long, Bianca needs to spill the tea!”
Someone else said: “I’m proud she’s walking away.”
“This does not shock me one bit,” a third user commented.
Another person typed: “I actually hope this is true, what I saw on that Grammys carpet made me feel so sorry for her. I’m glad she got the courage to divorce him.”
Reports of their alleged split came off the back of their controversial appearance on the Grammys red carpet.
The award show saw Censori arrive in an oversized black fur coat, before revealing a see-through skin-colored mini dress, which left her completely nude as she posed for photos.
The controversial fashion statement caused a fury of discourse online, with many claiming the rapper had forced his wife into the stunt.
Others went a step further, calling for West and his wife to be arrested for public indecency.
West and the former Yeezy employee’s relationship has been a point of contention, particularly regarding his influence over her wardrobe, with Censori regularly spotted wearing minimal and revealing clothing.
During West’s nearly seven-year marriage to Kim Kardashian, the rapper heavily influenced and evolved the SKIMS co-founder’s style.
The business mogul even told her sister Kourtney during an episode of The Kardashian: “I got to a point where I would ask him for advice for everything – down to what I wear.”
West has not only been making headlines due to his 30-year-old wife’s outfits but the rapper has also been dropped by his talent agency, The Guardian reports.
The ‘Power’ singer posted a stream of antisemitic abuse on X (formerly known as Twitter), putting T-shirts with a swastika for sale on his online shop, and allegedly described himself as Hitler to a Jewish employee.
His fashion brand Yeezy has also been taken offline by Shopify.
An hour after reports of a divorce broke, West made a cryptic post online, sharing the definition of ‘coercion.’
The now-deleted Instagram post read (per the Daily Mail): “Coercion is the act of forcing someone to do something against their will through threats or intimidation. It can involve physical harm, psychological abuse, extortion, blackmail, or s**ual assault.”
The couple’s long-time representative, Milo Yiannopoulos, also tells The Hollywood Reporter: “Ye and Bianca are in Los Angeles, about to enjoy Valentine’s Day together.
“Announcements about their private life will come from them directly, not unsourced rumors in the tabloid press.
“Is this the fifth or is it the sixth time the press has wrongly reported that Ye and Bianca are separating? I’ve lost track.”
