Jeff Bezos’ Girlfriend To Lead All-Female Space Expedition
Jeff Bezos’ girlfriend is to lead an all-female space expedition.
Celebrities have started hitting the headlines by heading into space – a trend that has grown in popularity over the last few years.
Some of the world’s richest men, like Bezos, 59, and Richard Branson, 72, have made this possible through their own space exploration companies.
And now, history is set to be made on an upcoming mission.
Find out about Jeff Bezos’ girlfriend going to space below…
Blue Origin, Bezos’ private space company, is planning a historic all-female mission into space that will be led by his partner Lauren Sanchez, 53.
This will be the first time an expedition into space has had an all-female crew.
The mission is expected to launch at some point in 2024.

NASA has previously announced plans for an all-female crew to go into space and its mission is scheduled for 2025.
However, it looks as though Sanchez will beat them to it.
Sanchez holds a helicopter pilot license and is the founder of Black Ops Aviation, a female-owned aerial film and production company, so she’ll likely have no fear about going into space.
The women who will be joining her in space are yet to be confirmed.
Speaking to the Wall Street Journal, Sanchez explains the importance of this trip, saying: “It’s going to be women who are making a difference in the world and who are impactful and have a message to send.”
Sanchez also added that while Bezos is ‘excited’ for her, he will not be joining her in space.
She continues: “As much as he wants to go on this flight, I’m going to have to hold him back, he’ll be cheering us all on from the sidelines.
“I’ve wanted to be in the rocket from the jump, so [Bezos] is excited to make this happen with all of these women.”
Bezos himself already visited space in 2021 when he brought his brother Mark Bezos, 56, female aviator Wally Funk, 83, and physics student Oliver Daemen, 20, along with him.
He has also taken the likes of Star Trek star William Shatner and Good Morning America news anchor Michael Strahan into space too.
The Blue Origin shuttle flights last about 10 minutes with crew members flying around 60 miles above the Earth’s surface.
This gives them the chance to take in the breathtaking views while also getting experiencing a few minutes of floating with no gravity before they return to Earth in a parachute-controlled descent.

Blue Origin’s most recent crewed space flight took place in August 2022 and was the sixth overall flight by the company.
It was also a historic trip as it sent the first Egyptian and Portuguese nationals to space engineer Sara Sabry and entrepreneur Mario Ferrari.
Bezos has made it his mission to pioneer an era of commercialised space travel, meaning that it may one day be possible for anyone to leave Earth.
Well, maybe not everyone, as Blue Origin customers currently have to pay around $1.25 million to bag a seat on the shuttle.
So, if you’re dreaming of visiting space, you better get saving or hope the prices soon drop.
