Matthew Perry uploaded a haunting last Instagram post from his jacuzzi before his tragic death.

News broke over the weekend that the Friends star – who played Chandler Bing in the popular TV sitcom – had tragically passed away aged 54.

Perry was reportedly found unresponsive in his hot tub at his home in Los Angeles on Saturday. The incident was allegedly treated as a water rescue.

TMZ first reported on the story – citing that first responders were called to Perry’s house after he reportedly suffered a cardiac arrest.

According to the Los Angeles Times, law enforcement sources have said no drugs were found at the scene.

NBC added that the case was being treated as a ‘death investigation with no signs of foul play’.

Perry’s cause of death is yet to be officially disclosed.

“You fought hard to live this life and to not just exist. I hope it’s peaceful on the other side. Rest easy, Matthew.”

The Fools Rush In star released a memoir – called ‘Friends, Lovers and the Big Terrible Thing’ – in November 2022, in which he candidly spoke about his struggles with addiction.

He recalled how it was his co-star Jennifer Aniston who called him out over his addictions while they were filming Friends.

Perry wrote: “I had long since gotten over her – ever since she started dating Brad Pitt, I was fine – and had worked out exactly how long to look at her without it being awkward, but still, to be confronted by Jennifer Aniston was devastating.”

He then said Aniston told him: “I know you’re drinking.”

Discussing this moment, Perry said: “I was the injured penguin, but I was determined to not let these wonderful people, and this show, down.

“‘We can smell it’, she said, in a kind of weird but loving way, and the plural ‘we’ hit me like a sledgehammer.”
