Robin Williams’ Chilling Warning To US About Donald Trump Goes Viral
A resurfaced clip of Robin Williams issuing a chilling warning to the US about Donald Trump has gone viral.
The legendary late comedian, famed for his iconic roles in films such as Mrs. Doubtfire, Good Will Hunting, Awakenings, Jumanji, Hook, and Good Morning, Vietnam, was also widely renowned for his electric stand-up comedy sets.
It was during one of these sets 14 years ago that the current President came under fire from the Academy Award winner.
What once played as sharp comedy now lands with unsettling weight, reminding viewers how words from the past can resurface and take on an entirely new meaning.
Donald Trump’s latest controversies are alienating his followers
Despite always being able to rely on a devoted MAGA following, Trump has faced several struggles with his base recently.
His name being mentioned over 38,000 times in the recently released tranche of Epstein files has caused large amounts of consternation among even the US President’s most loyal supporters.
Trump’s handling of the Epstein files has made almost non-stop headlines over the last couple of months.
The 79-year-old’s hostilities aimed at any journalist who brings the files up to him have not been received well by pundits and politicians on both sides of the aisle.
The fact that Trump has been so opposed to the release of the files, coupled with his adamancy that everybody should move on from discussing them, has raised more than a few eyebrows and generated a ton of negative publicity for the man in the Oval Office.
In addition to the Epstein files, Trump’s administration has come under fire for its tactics surrounding immigration, with American citizens Renee Good and Alex Pretti being killed by ICE and border patrol agents earlier this year.

The shootings in Minnesota shocked Americans and led the government to severely alter its plans surrounding ICE operations, with operations in Minnesota reportedly being scaled back after Pretti was killed in the street by agents.
Protests have flared up across the United States over ICE’s violent raids, which have seen multiple American citizens arrested (many of whom do not have a criminal record) as well as small children, some as young as five, being detained and separated from their families.
On top of this, Trump’s latest actions in Iran have left many fearful for the potential of World War Three.
What were Robin Williams’ political views?
Throughout his career, Williams would critique and make fun of politicians, especially during his stand-up sets, per Slate.
Over the years, the Dead Poets Society star would make jokes about Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush, and his son, George W. Bush.
During his 2009 comedy special, Weapons of Self Destruction, Williams commented that politicians should wear NASCAR-style sponsored jackets so the public knew ‘who owns them.’
Williams’ 2006 film Man of the Year was a politically satirical picture in which the actor’s character, Tom Dobbs, ends up running for the US presidency after beginning as the host of a satirical news program.

Williams tended to pour scorn on both Republican and Democratic politicians in his routines, but was left-leaning with his own beliefs, donating to the political campaigns of Democrats Nancy Pelosi, Al Franken and Barbara Boxer.
In fact, the Academy Award winner’s great-great-grandfather was Anselm Joseph McLaurin, a Democrat who served as the 38th Governor of Mississippi from 1896 to 1900 and United States Senator from Mississippi from 1894-1895 and again from 1901 to 1909.
Reactions to Williams’ 2012 comments on Trump
Williams’ comments, from a 2012 comedy special he performed, have resonated profoundly with a lot of social media users.
Many commenters on X (formerly Twitter) replied to the video of Williams discussing Trump, mournful over the great actor’s passing in 2014. The actor tragically took his own life almost 12 years ago, at the age of 63.
One user on X replied: “And now we live in reality where Robin unfortunately killed himself, and Donald Trump is president. Heroes don’t win. Life isn’t a fairytale.”
Another user added: “Oh, how the world misses the genius of Robin Williams,” with someone else commenting: “Cried my eyes out when I heard he’d died. I was in my forties. Man was a comedy genius, and I don’t use the term lightly. So sad.”
What did Williams say about Trump?
In a 2012 stand-up set, Williams begins: “Donald Trump is the Wizard of Oz. This man plays Monopoly with real f***ing buildings.”
Williams then began warning the world about the now two-time US President.
“And he owns all these beauty pageants. Ms. America, Ms. Universe. It’s like Michael Vick owning a series of pet stores. It’s a f***ing catch and release program for him. This is a man who said ‘my daughter is hot.’ Even people in Arkansas said, ‘that’s f***ing wrong.’”
At the time of writing, the video has 7,500 reposts, 24,000 likes, has been bookmarked 2,600 times and has 423,000 views.
