Rolf Harris has died.

Harris, 93, was once one of the UK’s biggest stars, however, he was later jailed after using his fame to groom and assault young women.

The disgraced entertainer was jailed for s**ual assaults on young girls, with one being a childhood friend of his daughter.

Although Harris denied all accusations, he was convicted following a high-profile trial.

At the time, the judge said Harris had taken advantage of his celebrity status and showed no remorse for his actions.

The convicted p****phile was sentenced in 2014 to five years and nine months in prison.

After leaving prison six years ago, Harris was left ‘very sick’ with neck cancer, as per MailOnline.

However, the cause of death has yet to be disclosed.

Prior to his passing, he had been living as a recluse with his wife, Alwen, 91, in the English village of Bray.

It’s believed that the Australian-born TV presenter rarely left his home and would rely on carers and nurses on a daily basis.

One of his neighbours told The Daily Telegraph: “Only carers and nurses, who care for him 24 hours, come and go. I’m told he can’t eat anymore.”

While private investigator, author and former police officer William Merritt, writer of the book ‘Rolf Harris: The Truth Behind the Trials’, claimed it was difficult to understand the disgraced entertainer.

He told The Mirror: “As far as his health goes, yes, he is very ill. But, Rolf keeps going. He’s still around but he’s not well at all.”

Merritt also said that Harris preferred to be on his own, as he didn’t ‘particularly like kids’ due to the ‘noise’.

MailOnline reached out to Harris’ daughter, Bindi, 59, and her husband for comment. However, they refused.

A family friend reportedly told the outlet that Bindi ‘has nothing to say about her father’.

Harris, who was born in western Australia, found fame in the 1950s with songs such as ‘Two Little Boys’ and ‘Jake the Peg’.

During the sixties and seventies, he began presenting TV shows such as Animal Hospital.

But in 2012, Harris was arrested as a part of the Operation Yewtree investigation, following the wake of the Jimmy Savile scandal.

Prosecutors claimed in his trial – which began in May 2014 – that the entertainer was a ‘Jekyll and Hyde’ character.

Harris’ death comes just days after the release of a new ITV documentary, titled Hiding in Plain Sight, which explores the rise and fall of the ‘national treasure’.

Hiding in Plain Sight is available to stream on ITVX.
