TikTok Star Cat Janice Has Died Aged 31
Cat Janice, a musician and TikTok star, has tragically died aged just 31.
Janice was best known for her viral song ‘Dance You Outta My Head’.
One of her most popular videos quickly went viral on TikTok, gaining a whopping 22 million views, while the song hit number five on the Apple iTunes world chart and reached number one in multiple countries.
The song was inspired by Janice’s son, Loren.
“The idea for the song, ‘Dance You Outta My Head’, came about last spring,” she said, per People, claiming she and Loren were ‘bopping around in the car’.
“We came up with some fun lyrics and a little ditty,” she continued. “I song banked it and made a little voice note of it and as time went on, we would bounce around in the car to it every now and then.”
But now, it’s been confirmed that the young mother of one has devastatingly passed away.

Janice had previously put all of her music in her son’s name, ensuring he will receive all the proceeds.
She claimed her viral fame came as a huge surprise.
“I was sitting there in the middle of the night looking at my phone — what the heck is going on here?” she recalled. “I started yelling and my parents came down, they were like, what is going on?
“I just wanted to put out something fun and positive. My art is all I have to leave behind.”
Heartbreakingly, Janice’s family has released a statement confirming that the singer has passed on.
Her family writes on Instagram: “This morning, from her childhood home and surrounded by her loving family, Catherine peacefully entered the light and love of her heavenly creator.
“We are eternally thankful for the outpouring of love that Catherine and our family have received over the past few months. Cat saw her music go places she never expected and rests in the peace of knowing that she will continue to provide for her son through her music. This would not have been possible without all of you.”
Janice’s journey as a social media star began in 2021 when she began documenting her cancer journey.
She first realised that she was unwell when she found a lump in her neck.
“I was not sick I was just kind of tired. I really didn’t have any other symptoms beyond this weird lump,” she shared at the time.
Janie was diagnosed with sarcoma, a rare malignant tumour, and underwent surgery, chemo and radiation before being declared cancer-free in summer 2022.
Throughout her treatment, she shared her journey and her music on social media.

In January 2024, it was confirmed that Janice had moved to a hospice after finding out that her cancer had returned.
She released her famous song as both a tribute to her son and a means of making money for his future after she’s no longer around.
“Everyone knows that I’ve been battling cancer for a while and I wanted to put this song out, and just go stream it. I hope you like it. I don’t know if I’m going to be around even when the song comes out, so let’s just put it out. And I did,” she said at the time.
Janice also wrote: “It’s been so hard for me to go through this and all these videos and covers and all your support has made it easier and I can’t thank you enough.
“I’ve always been strong so spending weeks unable to walk has left me feeling trapped.
“But this helped me remember when I get to heaven I’m going to dance with God and soar above the clouds. I cannot wait.
“I won’t be stuck in this body any more. I’ll be dancing again. I hope to see you all there.”
Rest in peace.
