Travis Kelce has responded to the backlash he’s received over a viral and ‘inappropriate’ moment between him and his coach Andy Reid at the Super Bowl.

During this year’s Super Bowl, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Kelce appeared to yell at his coach Andy Reid.

The bizarre moment attracted the outrage of the Swifties, who called on the ‘Cruel Summer’ singer to dump the sports star.

Since the clip has gone viral, theories have sprung up about what was actually happening between the two.

And now, Kelce has responded to those calling out his ‘inappropriate behaviour’.

People on X, formerly known as Twitter, were not happy with seeing Kelce seemingly yell at Reid.

One writes: “Travis Kelce lost his s*** again. Inappropriate as usual. Andy Reid is very patient with him.”

Someone else says: “I thought Kelce’s behaviour was inappropriate when I saw it. Andy Reid deserves more respect and, as a leader on the team, Kelce should be exemplifying better behaviour.”

While another adds: “Kelce was very inappropriate, I know we all get emotionally invested, but he’s not exhibiting proper sportsmanship.”

People have been going wild trying to figure out what was said during the viral moment, which saw Kelce seemingly shouting in Reid’s face.

Both Kelce and Reid were initially tight-lipped on the topic, leading to plenty of speculation online.

A lip reader claimed to Daily Mail that the 34-year-old said to his coach: “Keep me in. You f***er! I’m calm now!”

A source also came out with their behind-the-scenes gossip on the moment, telling Page Six: “He respects Coach Reid. It’s really just about the passion of the game. It wasn’t anything serious.”

They add: “He’s just a passionate player and everyone’s on edge. It’s the Super Bowl! But there was no malintent.”

But now Kelce himself has revealed what actually went down…

“You guys saw that?” he said. “I’m going to keep it between us unless my mic’d up tells the world. I was just telling him how much I loved him.”

Kelce would then continue (via MailOnline): “He’s one of the best leaders of men I’ve ever seen in my life. And he’s helped me a lot with that, with channelling that emotion, with channelling that passion. I owe my entire career to that guy and being able to kind of control how emotional I get and I just love him.”

Reid also offered his take on the situation, explaining: “He caught me off balance. I wasn’t watching. He was really coming over [and saying], ‘Just put me in, I’ll score. I’ll score’. So, that’s really what it was. I love that. It’s not the first time. I appreciate him.

“The part I love is he loves to play the game and he wants to help his team win. It’s not a selfish thing. That’s not what it is. I understand that.

“As much as he bumps into me, I get after him and we understand that. He just caught me off balance.”

Later on, Reid told ESPN: “He came over and gave me a hug, said ‘Sorry about that’. He just wants to be on the field and he wants to play. There’s nobody I get better than I get him… He makes me feel young.”
