Chris Pratt has revealed that ‘Chris’ is not his name, and he hates being called it.
There’s just something about celebrity names that is oddly fascinating.
For example, did you know that Carmen Electra was actually called Tara Leigh Patrick right up until this very year?
Or that Macauley Culkin changed his name to Macauley Macauley Culkin Culkin – yep, you read that right.
And then, of course, there’s the ongoing saga of what we should really call Anne Hathaway.
Spoiler alert – it’s not Anne!

“They asked me, ‘What do you want your name to be?’, and I was like, ‘Well, it should be my name. My name’s Anne Hathaway’,” she recalled to US talk show host Jimmy Fallon.
“And so that seemed like the right choice, but it never occurred to me that for the rest of my life people would call me Anne.”
“Call me Annie! Everybody, everybody, call me Annie – please!”
She added: “The only person who ever calls me Anne is my mother, and she only does it when she’s really mad at me.
“So every time I step out in public and someone calls my name, I think they’re going to yell at me.”
But now there’s another celebrity who’s revealed that their name is not what it seems.
Pratt has opened up about the fact he hates it when people call him Chris!
Going by a stage name is strangely common in Hollywood.
Just think of Reginald Kenneth Dwight (pop legend Elton John) or Farrokh Bulsara (Queen star Freddie Mercury).
But some of these celebrity pseudonyms are a little less flamboyant.
And one such… oddly boring stage name that’s taken the internet by storm this week belongs to none other than Pratt.
The Guardians of the Galaxy star, 44, has starred in some of the biggest blockbusters of the last 10 years – including the Jurrasic World franchise, Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.
He’s also married to Katherine Schwarzenegger – the daughter of legendary action star Arnold Schwarzenegger!
But his professional career and romantic life are not the reasons why Pratt is in the headlines this week.
Instead, it’s all about something a little more basic.
His name!

Pratt – whose legal name is Christopher Michael Pratt – has revealed that he actually hates being called Chris.
Speaking to SiriusXM’s Pop Culture Spotlight, he explained he prefers the nicknames ‘Pratt’ or ‘CP’.
“No one calls me Chris,” he shares.
“I went golfing with my friend, Chad, my pastor the other day and he was like, ‘No one calls you Chris? I’m gonna call you Chris. Alright, Chris. You’re up’.
“And I was like, ‘No, it feels weird. It’s not my name. Don’t call me Chris’.”
