Dr. Seuss’ work is reportedly going to be ‘edited’ by a ‘racially diverse team’ following a backlash on social media.

According to Dr. Seuss Enterprises, which is a company that was founded by the children’s author’s family, an ‘inclusive’ group of artists and writers are going to step in and work on some of the creator’s unpublished content.

Reps claim that the author – whose real name was Theodor Seuss Geisel – will have his ‘creativity and imagination’ inspiring a ‘new generation’.

An official statement, by the company’s CEO, Susan Brandt, reads: “We look forward to putting the spotlight on a new generation of talent who we know will bring their unique voices and style to the page, while also drawing inspiration from the creativity and imagination of Dr. Seuss.”

She went on to add: “The original Dr. Seuss sketch that serves as the inspiration for each of the new Seuss Studios books will be included in the book, along with a note from the creators explaining how they were inspired, and their process.”

As of yet, the artists and writers working on the project have yet to be revealed.

Since the announcement has been made, people have taken to social media and blasted the company for ‘ruining’ Dr. Seuss’ work.

One tweeted: “Can’t they just make up their own woke stories without ruining the work of a beloved author? Was bad enough when they cancelled his books.”

In agreement, another person questioned: “100%. Can someone legally edit and revise/change someone’s work without their permission?”

Last year, Dr. Seuss’ work came under criticism on what would have been his 118th birthday.

Reportedly, the Enterprises confirmed that some of the author’s books would ‘cease publication,’ due to their ‘hurtful’ portrayals.
