In a dramatic and unexpected moment during her popular ABC talk show, Drew Barrymore, 49, stunned the audience by pulling out her hair mid-conversation with actress Pamela Anderson.

The two were discussing the topic of natural beauty and self-acceptance when Drew decided to take things to a bold new level, much to the shock and delight of everyone watching.

“What a wonderful idea! This is real self-love. Thank you to Drew’s crew for promoting it!” one viewer pens.

A second agrees: “How fantastic that Pamela Anderson is really getting her message across!!!”

“I hope this becomes a movement!” adds a third.

The lively conversation, which also included fellow guest Valerie Bertinelli, 64, took an unexpected turn when Drew abruptly interrupted Pamela to address the elephant in the room.

“Sorry, if we’re really going to be honest here…” Drew said, trailing off as she reached for her head and began to tug at her hair.

At this moment, everyone in the studio and the viewers at home watched in disbelief as Drew started pulling out chunks of her hair and tossing them across the room.

The carefree action left her guests and the audience momentarily speechless.

Pamela Anderson, ever the icon of embracing one’s true self, was quick to react with enthusiasm.

“Oh my gosh, this is wonderful!” Pamela exclaimed, clearly approving of Drew’s rebellious act.

Valerie, equally moved by the moment, couldn’t help but chime in, “I love you so much!” she said, applauding Drew’s unapologetic authenticity.

As the host finished pulling out her hair, she began to explain why she’d made such an unexpected decision.

“So, another really awesome symptom of perimenopause is you start to lose your hair,” Drew candidly shared, touching on a topic that has long been taboo.

This particular comment resonated deeply with the guests, as well as many women watching, who may have been struggling in silence with similar experiences.

Pamela, who was seated right next to Drew, offered her encouragement, stating: “You have a lot of hair, your hair is beautiful.”

Drew quickly responded with a smile: “It’s good. It’s not bad.”

Valerie then humorously added: “You can have a full face of makeup and still feel terrible on a bad hair day. But if you’re having a good hair day, it feels like everything else just falls into place.”

Drew wholeheartedly agreed, emphasizing that a great hair day can indeed boost confidence and make you feel more comfortable in your skin.

Drew is openly discussing her journey through perimenopause, a topic she has been increasingly vocal about in recent months.

Earlier this year, she even partnered with a health brand to promote a supplement aimed at easing menopause symptoms, writing on social media: “Yup, the dreaded ‘M word’ that we should not feel ashamed of because EVERY woman is going to go through menopause!”

The episode, inspired by Pamela Anderson’s choice to go makeup-free, celebrated embracing natural beauty.

Anderson has embraced a barefaced look, revealing the powerful reason behind her decision:  “I’m makeup-free at home, so why not for Paris Fashion Week?”

Her decision to go without makeup stems from a personal loss.

Since the passing of her makeup artist and friend, Alexis Vogel, who died of breast cancer in 2019, Anderson no longer felt compelled to wear makeup.

Drew, her guests, and the entire audience joined in, skipping makeup to promote the message that true beauty goes beyond cosmetics or hair.

Toward the end of the conversation, Drew revealed that the hair she had dramatically flung across the studio was, in fact, extensions she’d been using to cope with hair thinning brought on by perimenopause.

“I’ve been wearing these because of it,” she confessed, laughing about her spur-of-the-moment decision to pull them out on air.
