Emma Stone wants fans to stop calling her ‘Emma’ and use her real name instead.
Stone, 35, is one of the biggest stars in Hollywood and has won numerous accolades throughout her career, including two Academy Awards and two Golden Globes.
She’s appeared in films such as La La Land, The Amazing Spider-Man, Cruella and most recently Poor Things – which some viewers say is more messed up than Saltburn.
But what many fans don’t know about Stone is that her real name isn’t actually Emma – and she’s finally had enough of people calling her it.

The Easy A star isn’t the only celebrity to go by a stage name.
Chris Pratt, who you may know from Guardians of the Galaxy and Jurassic World, says he doesn’t like the name Chris and it’s not his name.
On Pop Culture Spotlight, he shared: “No one calls me Chris.
“I went golfing with my friend, Chad, my pastor the other day and he was like, ‘No one calls you Chris? I’m gonna call you Chris. Alright, Chris. You’re up’.
“And I was like, ‘No, it feels weird. It’s not my name. Don’t call me Chris’.”
Anna Hathaway, who co-starred alongside Pratt in Bride Wars, has experienced a similar issue.
The Interstellar actress says Anne ‘doesn’t fit’ her and that she’d love fans to call her Annie instead.
On The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, she encouraged: “…feel free to call me anything but Anne.”
And now Stone has also shared that being called by her real name ‘would be so nice’.
Unlike a lot of A-listers in Hollywood, Stone hasn’t let fame get to her head – which is probably why she wishes people would call by her real name.
The actress, who started her career at an early age, has previously shared: “I’m blessed with a great family and great people around me that would be able to kick my butt if I ever for one minute got lost up in the clouds.
“I’ve been really lucky in that sense.”
In an interview with The New York Times, Stone said she hates seeing paparazzi outside her home.
“It’s uncomfortable to have photographers outside of your home. That’s never going to feel good, and I don’t think that’s OK. Yet there’s also a goal to live life normally,” she told the publication.
“So, if they photograph you walking to the same restaurant every morning like you do when you live in a neighbourhood. Honestly, I try not to think about it any longer than when it’s happening.”
Stone added that she is ‘protective’ when it comes to her personal life.
“For me, I value privacy so much and I understand why I need to talk about the work, the films and all of that but it’s incredibly hard to reveal stuff about my life, so it makes me feel pretty boring and very protective,” the Zombieland star explained.
When Stone started her acting career and joined the Screen Actors Guild, she officially took on the name Emma.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, The Help actress revealed that when getting her SAG card there was already an Emily Stone.
And while it may not have bothered her at first that she had to go by Emma, it eventually led to an identity crisis.
“I freaked out a couple of years ago. For some reason, I was like, ‘I can’t do it anymore. Just call me Emily’,” Stone recalled.
On The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the Gangster Squad star said Emma Bunton, aka Baby Spice of the Spice Girls, inspired her stage name.
She said: “Growing up I was super blonde and my real is Emily, but I wanted to be called Emma because of Baby Spice and guess what! Now I am.
“It wasn’t necessarily because of her but yes, in second grade did I go up to the teacher on the first day and ask her to call me Emma? Yes, I did. Was it because of Emma Lee Bunton from the Spice Girls? Yes it was.”
