Netflix’s latest disturbing documentary is being compared to a ‘real life Handmaid’s Tale‘ by viewers.

Netflix has been knocking it out of the park lately, with some seriously intriguing documentaries.
Take the one that’s being dubbed a ‘real life Gone Girl‘, the true crime tale that needs to be seen to be believed, or the family story that’s truly heartbreaking, for example.
But now, one documentary series that’s being compared to The Handmaid’s Tale is being branded the platform’s most disturbing ever…

The documentary in question tells the story of a terrifying cult that was founded on principles of child s**ual abuse.
Netflix’s official synopsis reads: “In 2008, a dramatic raid at the Yearning for Zion Ranch in West Texas generated attention around the world, as law enforcement agents uncovered stunning evidence of s**ual, physical and psychological abuse and took 400+ children into custody.
“The series gives viewers an in-depth look into the secretive sect (FLDS) and the rise of self-professed prophet Warren Jeffs.
“From forced underage marriage and pregnancy to a complete unravelling into an oppressive criminal cult under Warren Jeffs’ rule, the story uncovers extraordinary bravery battling tyrannical control in modern America.”
And since it hit screens, fans have been left feeling truly shaken up by the vile acts depicted.

The documentary in question is called Keep Sweet: Pray and Obey.
It comprises four episodes, and contains heartbreaking real testimonials and ‘harrowing personal stories of some of the courageous women and men who escaped’.
The documentary also features never-before-seen archival footage from inside the highly private sect.
Alongside acclaim from Netflix viewers, the series has also gained critical success.
