Netflix Fans Obsessed With ‘Best Show’ That’s So Good They’re Bingeing It All In One Night
Netflix fans are obsessing over a new TV show that’s so good they’re bingeing it all in one night.
The streaming platform is renowned for its in-house content, with viewers unable to get enough of its original films and TV shows.
This applies to the latest series dropped on Netflix, with fans raving over it on social media.
One fan enthuses: “This show is a political conspiracy thriller masterpiece. One of the best-limited series from Netflix in a while.”
Another adds: “This is the best series to drop all year.”
“I loved this show, I binged it in one day,” a third writes.
Someone else says: “Certainly worth a watch.”
Critics are raving about the limited series too, as Ricky Valero of the FandomWire wrote: “It is a strong political, psychological chess match worthy of a binge.”
Collider’s Jeff Ewing said: “Anchored by an excellent central performance while allowing its protagonist to be vulnerable, it’s one of the year’s finest (and most poignant) thriller shows.”
Lucy Mangan penned for The Guardian: “The series gains heft as it goes along, becoming a portrait of a world in which the truth is whatever you want it to be and a great fantasy will always beat reality when it comes to gaining followers and traction.”
The new thriller has also topped the Netflix charts and scored 75% on Rotten Tomatoes and 6.5/10 on IMDb.
The show’s official synopsis reads: “A man is falsely accused of murder and embarks on a mission to find the real killer.”
It features a range of high-profile actors, including Colman Domingo, known for his role in HBO’s Euphoria and The Color Purple.
It also stars Marsha Stephanie Blake, John Ortiz, Thaddeus J. Mixson, and Gabrielle Graham.
Created for Netflix by Stephen Belber, the eight-part series covers topics prevalent in society today, such as racism within the justice system.
Belber told The Hollywood Reporter: “I do think Americans, as an audience, hunger for issue stuff like this [where we’re] talking about our complexities.
“If it’s done dramatically and if it’s done entertainingly, I don’t think it’s a taboo subject to talk about what screws us up as a country and what makes us great.”
Co-showrunner V. J. Boyd also pointed out that the series may be ‘frustrating’ times, however, this was intended to provoke ‘discussion.’
The Madness hasn’t been confirmed for a second season yet, but lead actor Domingo said he would ‘really love’ the idea of a follow-up.
He told Deadline: “Listen, I don’t really say this a lot about any show because I like going from moment to moment and having great moments in a show and moving on with my life and doing something else.
“This show, I think there’s more from Muncie [lead role]. I would really love to engage with a season 2.”
