Have you ever wondered how Princess Fiona survived locked up in the tower? Well, one TikToker has shared their disturbing theory on the matter and it’s left Shrek fans creeped out.

Shrek is undoubtedly one of the biggest animated film series of all time, having made an estimated $4 billion at the box office.

The franchise stars Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy, Cameron Diaz and Antonio Banderas.

The first movie, which is named after the titular character, follows a bad-tempered but kind-hearted orge who captures the heart of a princess.

While the film is intended for children, audiences have spotted that a few dark and crude jokes have been snuck in by its makers.

The latest find involves how Princess Fiona survived being locked up in the tower – and it’s a grim theory.

In the first Shrek film, Shrek is tasked with saving Princess Fiona from the highest room in the tower at Dragon’s Keep.

The princess has been there for over 20 years, as she is waiting for her true love to slay the dragon guarding the tower.

But as she has been there for so long, it’s led to many fans of the movie wondering how she survived without food.

One TikToker, named Ivan Mars, has shared his dark theory, saying in a video: “It took me 20 years to realise something creepy about Shrek.

“We know Fiona has lived in the tower for more than 20 years. How did she survive so long without any food.”

Mars then shows an earlier scene from Shrek, which shows Shrek scaring off some intruders from his swamp by telling them that ogres love ‘human soup’.

He continues: “And then we see a recipe book of humans and a pot near Fiona’s room,” before suggesting that the supposedly innocent princess is actually a c***ibal.

8.1 million people have seen the TikToker’s video and have taken to the comments to react to his theory, with one saying: “I noticed [too] that and when Shrek was rescuing her there were skeletons in her room and [in] the entrance.”

“That explains skeleton bones in the castle!! Because the dragon is chained up,” adds someone else.

A third person theorises: “Maybe the dragon was preventing anyone from entering to her because the dragon knows that she is a c***ibal.”

Another viewer has taken the theory one step further, speculating: “And she was eating all the knights that came to rescue her maybe!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

However, not everyone is convinced by this theory, with some people arguing that the book belongs to the dragon.

One TikToker argues: “That book is bigger than Shrek. It’s as if it was made for a dragon.”

In agreement, another adds: “Pretty sure the pot and recipe were for the dragon.”

I always thought that was the dragon’s cooking pot,” weighs in a third.
