The Little Mermaid fans have been left horrified after being served seriously ‘dark’ food at the movie premiere.
The live-action adaption of the Disney classic has been one of the most anticipated films of the year.
While some may have raised concerns that the new movie will stray too far from the much-adored and original storyline, others have been unimpressed with the casting of Halle Bailey.
Despite this, many have been eagerly anticipating The Little Mermaid’s arrival in cinemas – but this has also led to quite some drama.

During an Australian premiere of the live-action movie, people were left speechless by what was on offer.
Cinemagoers were given sushi to snack on during the film.
Those who went are now taking to TikTok and sharing their thoughts on the questionable choice of food.
One attendee, named Cody Jon, has taken to the social media platform and shared a clip of the delicacy, alongside the caption: “To whoever planned this. You’re sick. But also brilliant.”

Their clip has since gone viral, having accumulated more than 351,000 views at the time of writing.
Many people have also taken to the comments and shared their thoughts on the questionable choice of food.
One viewer writes: “I was like why is it dark… I scrolled 3 videos and went OHHHHH.”
Another TikToker adds: “Who on earth was in charge of the menu and WHY.”

Someone else jokes that they went to the ‘4D’ screening of The Little Mermaid.
However, others have seen the funny side and are saying that it’s actually a clever idea.

Although there has been controversy surrounding the movie, it still looks to be on track to have a huge opening weekend.
It’s estimated to make $115 million on its domestic box office opening weekend, according to the Twitter page The Hollywood Handle.
The Little Mermaid will be exclusively released in cinemas worldwide on May 26.
