Before his ill-fated bout with Seiya Tsutsumi, Aanaguchi boasted a perfect 6-0 record.

Last December, on Boxing Day, Anaguchi fought Seiya Tsutsumi.
The fight was on the undercard of Naoya Inoue’s undisputed super bantamweight clash with Marlon Tapales.
The fight made for horrific viewing, as things did not go in Anaguchi’s favour and he lost the fight by scores of 95-91, 94-92 and 94-92.
Anaguchi was beaten and bloody – with visible cuts to his face and body – and was dropped four times during the fight.
He also suffered convulsions – which are when someone’s muscles shake uncontrollably, as per Medical News Today – with CBS noting his legs shaking in between rounds while his corner treated to his wounds.
Following his loss, Anaguchi was transported to the hospital, where he lost consciousness and fell into a coma.
He was then rushed into emergency surgery to remove a subdural hematoma which was sustained during the fight.

But tragically, he never woke up after the procedure, remaining comatose for a month.
And now, it’s been confirmed he’s tragically passed on as a result of these injuries sustained during the match.
Boxing Kingdom explains on X: “ Kazuki Anaguchi suffered knock downs in rounds four, seven, nine and ten. Anaguchi was carried out of the ring by his team. Placed in an induced coma and had subdural hematoma surgery. Never regained consciousness and passed away at 5.38pm on Friday at only 23.”
One fan responds: “Horrible tragedy, for him, his family and boxing.”
Another replies: “The tragic side of the sweet science. Deeply saddening.”
A third agrees: “He passed giving us one of the greatest fights I’ve ever seen live. It saddens me so much that our community witnessed this but I’m grateful that we got to see this man. Prayers to his family.”
Rest in peace.
