Kim Kardashian has reportedly asked California judges to make her ‘legally single,’ which could lead to an entirely new ‘divorce trend,’ a top lawyer has claimed.

The 41-year-old filed for divorce from rapper Kanye West at the beginning of the year, however, it’s believed things are moving at a much slower pace than she’d like, as the father of her kids refuses to ‘terminate’ their marriage.

Until the divorce can be finalised, Kardashian has reportedly asked to be branded ‘legally single,’ which would mean that she’s defaulted to her pre-marital name and will once again have a single status.

Nancy Chemtob, a New York family law attorney, has claimed that the reality TV star is the first high-profile person to request the phrase.

The lawyer told the Insider: “She’s basically saying, ‘[Kanye West] is never moving forward to get divorced, and so let me move on’.”

If the request was approved by the court, it would mean the process would possibly move along much faster.

Plus, other people may begin requesting the phrase in their own court hearings.

Apparently, Kardashian’s divorce doesn’t follow the typical route, as West is allegedly refusing to comply.

Recently, it was reported that the rapper pleaded with the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star to ‘run right back to me’.

According to the BBC, West attended a benefit concert for former gang leader Larry Hoover, who has a life sentence in prison.

During the event, he sang ‘Runaway’ to the audience but added a new lyric at the end.

In the final verse, he said: “I need you to run right back to me. More specifically, Kimberly.”
