A scientist says that life after death is scientifically ‘impossible’.
Through the centuries, mankind has been haunted by the question of what happens to us after we die.
And while there’s been tons of books, films, TV shows and religions that explore all of the possibilities, we won’t ever truly know.
However, one scientist says it’s pretty clear what the answer is.

Dr Sean Carroll, who is a cosmologist and physics professor, says that it’s ‘beyond the realm of scientific probability’.
He argues that it’s not possible for there to be life after death as it would mean consciousness would need to be something that is ‘separated from our physical body’ – which is something the laws of physics deny.

Dr Carroll shares his thoughts on the matter in the Scientific American, in which he writes: “Claims that some form of consciousness persists after our bodies die and decay into their constituent atoms face one huge, insuperable obstacle.
“The laws of physics underlying everyday life are completely understood, and there’s no way within those laws to allow for the information stored in our brains to persist after we die.”
He goes on to insist that there’s ‘clearly no way for the soul to survive death’.
Dr Carrol believes that once this is universally accepted by all scientists, how the human mind operates can truly be understood.
“Once we get over any reluctance to face reality on this issue, we can get down to the much more interesting questions of how human beings and consciousness really work,” he adds.
While another expert has gone viral after explaining what their study has found.
Dr Sam Parnia, who is the director of the critical care and resuscitation unit at NYU Langone School of Medicine in New York City, says that death is ‘not a black and white moment’.

The doctor, who has brought thousands of patients back from the brink of death, tells The Daily Express: “When we die, that experience is not unpleasant for the vast majority of people.
“For those of us who die naturally, even if we were in pain before we die, the process of death becomes very comfortable, it is very blissful, peaceful.”
He adds that a lot of people describe a situation in which they find themselves being ‘separated’ from their bodies.
Despite this, Dr Parnia says there is no evidence of an afterlife – as he believes it’s the brain scanning itself as some form of a survival technique.
