A fitness expert has shared a military sleep secret that can help people fall asleep within two minutes.

Everyone agrees that struggling to fall asleep is an absolute nightmare.

No matter how tired you may be, there are times you will find yourself still wide awake at 4am.

You might spend hours listening to sleep music or counting sheep, yet nothing will work.

Well, one fitness expert has shared a technique that will supposedly help you fall asleep very, very quickly.

Check out these 10 foods that will help you sleep at night below…

Justin Agustin, who shares exercising tips on TikTok, has gone viral for a sleeping hack that is apparently used by people in the military.

He captions the post: “Technique to falling asleep in 2 minutes!”

In the video, he explains that people must start by ‘calming their bodies’ from ‘head to toe’.

He explains: “Start by relaxing the muscles in your forehead.

“Relax your eyes, your cheeks, your jaw and focus on your breathing. Now go down to your neck and your shoulders.

“Make sure your shoulders are not tensed up. Drop them as low as you can and keep your arms loose by your side, including your hands and fingers.”

At this point, he says you should start to feel a ‘warm sensation’ going through your body.

He continues: “Take a deep breath and slowly exhale, relaxing your chest, your stomach, down to your thighs, knees, legs and feet.

“Again, imagine this warm sensation going down from your heart all the way to your toes.”

As this is all going on, Agustin says people remove any ‘stresses’ from their minds.

He suggests: “To do this, think of two scenarios.

“One – you’re lying in a canoe on a calm lake with nothing but a clear blue sky above you. Two – you’re lying in a black velvet hammock in a pitch-black.

“At any time when you start thinking of anything else or you start getting distracted, repeat these words for 10 seconds: ‘Don’t think, don’t think, don’t think’.”

Agustin explains that this might not be something that works for everyone straight away, and is something that should be practised every night for six weeks.

People in the comments section replied to let Agustin know if his advice worked or not.

One user said: “I’m a military brat and was taught this. I also had a veteran as a psychology teacher in college who taught this. it definitely works.”

Another person comments: “My mom taught me this and I taught my children. My son has many challenges and this helps him relax and fall asleep quickly, he’s 9.”

A third adds: “We learned this at summer camp back in the late 70s. I love it.”

However, one person revealed why the technique didn’t work, as they explain: “I’m trying this every night. I start off well, forget what comes next then open TikTok to have a look. 4 hrs later still on Tiktok.”
