Woman Sparks Debate After Disney World Refuses Entry Over ‘Perfectly Appropriate’ Outfit
A woman visiting Disney World was denied entry to a ride after being told she was ‘improperly dressed.’
It’s known as the ‘most magical place on Earth,’ ‘where dreams come true,’ but one visitor was left feeling ’embarrassed’ after an employee made her change outfits.
Nicole Arena was visiting the park with her husband when she was called out for her ‘inappropriate’ attire.
The couple decided to take a ‘spontaneous’ trip to Epcot on June 1, which was her husband’s first visit to the theme park ever, and her first in a very long time.
Speaking to People, Arena said: “We were both let into the park without any issues, and were genuinely excited to spend the day exploring.”
The pair had bought day passes to the park, and spent their time ‘rushing around trying to make the most of it, and get on as many rides as possible.’
But it was during the queue for the Frozen ride, where one employee picked her out of the crowd.
She recalled: “Along the way, we passed several employees who smiled and welcomed us without issue.
“Everything was still going smoothly until we finally reached the front of the line.”

She explained that she ‘suddenly’ caught the attention of one attendant, who expressed that she was ‘improperly dressed.’
Not only that, but she wouldn’t be allowed on the ride.
“I was genuinely shocked,” Arena said.
“[It was] certainly not anything more revealing than what many other guests were wearing.”
Her husband was quick to defend Arena, but the employee was simply having none of it.
She explained: “The employee suggested I leave the line to quickly purchase a T-shirt from a nearby merch store and return to ride afterward.”
Feeling ‘put on the spot’ and ’embarrassed,’ Arena purchased a $45 plain sleeveless tank top from a nearby merch shop.
The tank top was an attempt to cover her sports bra and leggings, that seemed to be the issue.
She noted that there ‘weren’t many options’ to chose from, and that an already-expensive day had become even more pricey.
Returning to the line, which they had patiently queued in, the couple spoke to a manager about the debacle.

According to Arena, they ‘agreed that we should never have been stopped at the front of the line.’
The manager also noted that any issue with attire should have been dealt with upon arrival at security, or when the first approached the ride.
Despite agreeing with the couple, Arena was not compensated for the tank top she was wrongly forced to purchase.
“The original employee seemed visibly upset after we complained and disappeared,” she said.
“We never saw her again after that.”
Arena noted that the issue felt a lot more personal, than something that was park policy.
“It disrupted our day, cost us extra time and money, and just left a sour taste after what had started as a fun and spontaneous visit,” she commented.
Disney World do have a dress code policy stated on its website, which notes that the park ‘reserve the right to deny admission to or remove any person wearing attire that is considered inappropriate or attire that could detract from the experience of other guests.’
