The fast food chain has delighted UK customers with a series of announcements in recent weeks, from the return of the Breakfast Wrap to the introduction of brand new pinked-themed desserts in time for Valentine’s Day.
And now, ahead of spring, it’s been revealed that the Shamrock Shake and Oreo Shamrock Shake will be back at participating McDonald’s across the US.
The mint-flavoured, green-tinted drink – which is made with vanilla soft serve and topped with whipped cream – is making its comeback just in time for St Patrick’s Day.

So here’s everything we know about the return of the Shamrock Shake, including its price:
When is the Shamrock Shake returning to menus?
The beloved item will return to the menu on February 5, the fast food chain says. This is two weeks earlier than its arrival in 2023.
So this means the Shamrock Shake will be in stores over a month ahead of St Patrick’s Day.
How much is McDonald’s Shamrock Shake?
The drink costs about $3-$4 depending on size, although different restaurants are responsible for setting their own prices, as per USA Today.
There’s also the limited edition Oreo version of the classic Shamrock Shake.
“Our classic Shamrock Shake® is made with creamy vanilla soft serve, blended with mint syrup and topped with a sweet, whipped topping. Or, for a hint of something different, try our fan-favourite OREO® Shamrock McFlurry®, which comes blended with crushed OREO® cookies,” the franchise explains.
Where can I get a McDonald’s Shamrock Shake?
McDonald’s Shamrock Shakes will be available in participating restaurants across the US from February 5.
As McDonald’s puts it: “Make your friends green with envy and snag one of these famously minty treats while supplies last.”
Why is the Shamrock Shake not available in McDonald’s UK?
The Shamrock Shake has never made its way across the pond to the UK – yet. This is because McDonald’s varies its menu depending on the location.
As the chain puts it: “Different markets serve different products on their menus.”
In fact, most different McDonald’s locations around the world have unique menu items!
