Accused tells the story of a young man – played by S** Education’s Chaneil Kular – who unexpectedly finds himself mistaken for a suspect in a London train bombing.
This leads to a rapid spread of false accusations on social media and his life being threatened, so he embarks on a mission to clear his name.
Since coming out, Accused has scored a hugely impressive 100 per cent rating on Rotten Tomatoes with critics praising the movie.

The Guardian has described the film as an ‘anxiety-inducing social media pile-on thriller’, while RTÉ (Ireland) summarised: “Imploring society to take a breath while simultaneously forcing its audience to hold theirs, Accused wraps in under 90 minutes but will leave you thinking for a lot longer.”
In an interview with Dazed Digital, Kular discussed the sensitive topics of the movie – adding that this is something that can ‘happen to anyone’.
He explains: “Everything that happens in the film is inspired by a melting pot of things that have happened in real life.
“It’s very zeitgeisty, and actually quite terrifying as well because the reality is that it can happen to anyone.”
Those who have watched the film since it dropped on the streaming service have reacted to it on social media.
One person pens: “Accused on Netflix is absolutely brilliant, 12/10!!! We weren’t breathing the whole time!”
Another viewer adds: “Watching Accused on Netflix omg it is intense af! Just shows what social media can do to someone accused of something they didn’t do just because of their race and the fact they also have a beard.”
