The Good Nurse (2022) follows nurse Amy Loughren (Chastain) as she comes to the horrifying realisation that one of her colleagues is responsible for the murders of dozens of patients over a period of sixteen years.

The film is based on the 2013 book ‘The Good Nurse: A True Story Of Medicine, Madness, and Murder’ by Charles Graeber.

The novel is a true crime novel which details the crimes of Charles Cullen, 63, a former nurse and convicted serial killer.

For 16 years, Cullen worked at hospitals in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

This came to an end in December 2003 when he confessed to killing 29 patients by administering drug overdoses.

At the time, it prompted many people to question the system and how Cullen managed to keep practising despite people repeatedly dying in unexpected circumstances under his care.

The Good Nurse is a film by Danish screenwriter Tobias Lindholm, whose previous credits include the 2015 Oscar-nominated movie A War

The true crime drama has an audience score of 76% on Rotten Tomatoes, with much praise going towards its casting.
