Andrew Tate Hit With Shocking New Allegations
The controversial influencer Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan have been arrested in Miami over new criminal offences.
UK officials have now confirmed that they plan to extradite the pair to face trial for these new charges at a British court.
Tate has become a very divisive figure online, but these new allegations could see him facing serious jail time if found guilty.
The new charges came as a surprise to many of his supporters.
Tate is no stranger to controversy
Andrew Tate built his career by making provocative statements that consistently divide opinion online.
Whether you see him as a straight-talking businessman or a dangerous misogynist, one thing is for sure: people can’t stop talking about him.
The former kickboxing world champion shot to mainstream fame after appearing on Big Brother in 2016, but it was his social media clips that made him one of the most recognisable figures online.
His videos, often featuring luxury cars, private jets and blunt opinions on relationships, masculinity and success, have racked up billions of views across social media.
Tate has repeatedly faced criticism for comments widely described as misogynistic, leading to bans from several major social media platforms.
Although some of those accounts have since been reinstated, his content continues to spark fierce debate whenever it appears online.
Supporters argue he’s encouraging men to become more disciplined, financially successful and confident, while critics say his rhetoric promotes harmful attitudes towards women and young audiences.
Despite the backlash, Tate remains hugely influential online, with podcasts, interviews and viral clips regularly attracting millions of views.
His ability to dominate headlines means almost every public appearance or social media post becomes a talking point.
Love him or loathe him, Andrew Tate has become one of the internet’s most polarising personalities. And judging by the constant stream of online arguments surrounding his name, that doesn’t look like changing anytime soon.
Previous run-ins with the law
Tate became more than a controversial influencer to many when criminal allegations began to pile up against him.
The brothers were arrested in Romania in December 2022 as part of an investigation by the country’s anti-organized crime agency.
Prosecutors alleged the brothers and two others formed an organized criminal group involved in human trafficking and the sexual exploitation of women.
In 2023, Romanian prosecutors formally indicted the four defendants.
Andrew Tate has consistently denied all allegations against him, insisting he is innocent and describing the case as politically motivated. Tristan Tate has also denied any wrongdoing.
The legal proceedings have continued to develop, with Romanian courts considering various procedural matters before any potential trial can begin.
The case has not reached a final verdict, and no court has convicted either brother of the alleged offences.
Tate is already facing charges in the UK
Andrew Tate faces separate criminal proceedings in the UK that are unrelated to the Romanian case.
In 2024, the Crown Prosecution Service authorized charges against both Andrew and his brother, Tristan Tate, following an investigation by Bedfordshire Police.
Andrew Tate has been charged with 10 offences relating to three complainants.
The charges include rape, actual bodily harm, human trafficking and controlling prostitution for gain.
Tristan Tate faces 11 charges relating to one complainant, including rape, actual bodily harm and human trafficking.
The charges relate to allegations dating from between 2012 and 2015.
UK authorities have confirmed that any criminal proceedings in Britain will take place only after the conclusion of the Romanian legal process, where both brothers are also facing separate criminal allegations.
Andrew and Tristan Tate have consistently denied all of the allegations against them. Their legal representatives have said they intend to defend the charges in court, and no trial has yet taken place in the UK.
What are the new charges?
The Crown Prosecution Service has now decided to bring further charges against the pair in relation to four further victims.
Andrew Tate will face seven further counts of rape, three counts of arranging or facilitating trafficking for sexual exploitation, three counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and 19 additional charges for offences relating to indecent images of a child and extreme pornography.
Tristan will face one count of sexual assault, two counts of rape and three counts of arranging or facilitating trafficking for sexual exploitation.
The alleged incidents took place between July 2010 and August 2017.
This brings the total of offences the brothers are facing in the UK to 59.
Malcolm McHaffie, Head of the Special Crime Division at the CPS, said: “We have decided to prosecute Andrew and Tristan Tate for further offences including rape, arranging or facilitating trafficking for sexual exploitation and offences relating to indecent images of a child.
“These charging decisions followed receipt of a further file of evidence from Bedfordshire Police and bring the total number of alleged victims in this case to seven.”
US officials will now decide whether to extradite the pair to the UK.
Speaking outside a court in Miami, the brothers’ lawyer Joe McBride said that they are the victims of a ‘political witch hunt.’
He added that he believes his clients have been ‘attacked for what they say, not what they’ve done.’
“We are, of course, objecting to extradition because Andrew and Tristan are innocent. They’ve never done nothing wrong. They shouldn’t be extradited for crimes they did not commit,” he said.
