Chilling Final Words Of Girl Who Plunged To Her Death During Bungee Jump
The chilling final words of a teenage girl who plunged to her death during a bungee jump have been revealed.
If you’re the type of person who enjoys thrill-seeking activities like jumping out of planes, cave diving or bungee jumping, you might want to look away now, because the story of what happened to one young girl is nothing short of harrowing.
A 16-year-old girl, who is known only as Liu, was visiting the Maliuyan Waterfall in Huayin, southwestern China on May 3, when tragedy struck.
Disturbing footage captured the moment the teen was prepared by staff to jump off the edge, as the girl held a blue flag over her shoulders. In the background of the clip, the teen’s friends can be heard excitedly giggling, waiting for her to jump as she moved towards the platform.
A bungee jump that led to devastation
For those who have never done bungee jumping before, it works by securing a person into a strong elastic cord, known as the bungee, either by a body harness or by the ankles.
The bungee will then be attached to a fixed point such as a bridge or a crane. Then, when you jump off whatever surface they’re perched on, gravity will do its thing and drag the person downwards, accelerating as as it goes.
Initially it will be like free falling, until the cord is pulled tight and then the person will bounce back up slightly, and so on and so forth.
If you want to get really science-y about it, the elastic energy builds as the cord stretches, because it starts to resist the fall, which is an example of the Hooke’s Law. This means the more the cord stretches, the stronger the restoring force pulls the person or object back up.
Then, the rebound means the stretched cord will then pull the person back up, converting stored elastic energy back into motion.
To make bungee jumping a safe and fun activity, people who are operating properly will choose the cord based on the jumpers height and weight, and will use this information to calculate exactly how far you’ll fall, to make sure you don’t hit the ground.
So, now we’ve finished our little science lesson and we both know exactly how bungee jumps work, it makes the story all the more horrifying when you learn exactly what happened to this poor girl.
The teen tragically lost her life
Devastatingly, something went very very wrong between the 16-year-old being strapped into the harness and the moment she was let go from the platform, because moments later, she plummeted to the gorge below and did not come back up.
In the clip, one of the staff members can be seen reaching for the young girl as she slipped from the safety zone, but it was too late, and the girl landed in the valley below.
Emergency services rushed to the scene and on finding Liu, they discovered she had survived the fall, but tragically she died from her injuries on the way to hospital.
An investigation has now been launched into the deadly incident, which took place at an outdoor adventure company known as Chongqing Adventure Camp.
Local authorities are said to have categorised the incident as a production safety accident after preliminary inquiries took place.
The park is set to be shut from May 4 to May 10 and a maintenance check for all the equipment is now underway.

In the harrowing clip, the young girl’s final words can be heard clearly, before she is pushed from the safety zone and ultimately plunges to her death.
According to translations, as the terrified girl left the platform she screamed multiple times, ‘it’s not tight enough,’ but before her desperate plea could be actioned, it was too late.
Local media outlets have reported that the safety rope snapped the moment the girl left the platform, leaving her to plummet into the rocks below.
