Final Words Of Teenager Eaten Alive By Bear While On Phone To Her Mom Revealed
The final words of a teenager who was eaten alive by a bear while on the phone to her mom have been revealed.
Olga Moskalyova, 19, gave a horrifying account of her death across three separate phone calls to her mother as the bears ate her alive.
Her stepfather Igor Tsyganenkov was also brutally killed by the bears near a river in Siberia, Russia.
The incident occurred when the pair had gone back to retrieve a fishing rod the stepfather had left behind.
The situation was so horrific that six hunters were dispatched by the emergency services to track down and kill the mother bear and her three cubs.
After hearing of the tragic incident, people have come together online to pay their respects, with one person saying: “I prayed for the soul of the girl and her stepfather.”
Another person added: “A truly tragic incident.”
What happened on the horrific day
Olga fell victim to the brutal attack with her stepfather, Igor Tsyganenkov, near a river in Russia, in the far east of Siberia.
It started when Olga and her stepfather had gone to the site to get a fishing rod Igor had left behind.
As the pair were walking along the river, they encountered a brown bear.
The Siberian brown bear, which is the breed of bear that attacked Olga and Igor, can weigh up to 720kg.
The bears can pose a threat to humans due to their aggressive nature.
The predator first viciously attacked Igor, and crushed his neck and skull in front of Olga.
She was able to briefly escape, and ran 70 yards.
The bear then caught up with her, bit her leg, and dragged her to the ground.
The teenager rang her mother in fear multiple times.
She realized the severity of the situation when she could hear the animal growling and chewing in the background.
“I could have died then and there from shock.”
The mother also tried to ring her husband Igor for help, unbeknownst to her, he had already been killed by the bear.
Around an hour after the first call, Olga would make what would be her last phone call to her mother.
Olga and Igor’s bodies were recovered later that day by a search party.
The search party included Igor’s brother and local police.
It was at this moment they found the bears eating Igor’s remains, while his stepdaughter’s body lay nearby.
Not an isolated incident
While shocking, Olga’s case is just one of several fatal bear attacks reported over the years.
In Montana, Night of the Grizzlies refers to a pair of fatal grizzly bear attacks that occurred on August 12, 1967.
The attacks took place at Glacier National Park, making them the first recorded bear-related deaths in the park’s history.
Two teenage girls lost their lives in separate incidents.
Nineteen-year-olds Julie Helgeson, from Minnesota, and Michele Koons, from California, were both working summer jobs within the park, as per Express.
They had gone out on night time hiking trips, and both never returned.
Another devastating bear attack that shocked people around the world was the case of Timothy Treadwell.
His story was later told in the documentary Grizzly Man.
Treadwell spent years living among grizzly bears in Katmai National Park and Preserve, believing he had formed a close bond with the animals.
But in 2003, he and his girlfriend, Amie Huguenard, were killed and partially eaten by a grizzly bear during one of their trips.
Olga’s heartbreaking final words
The teenager managed to make several desperate calls to her mother, providing a chilling hour-long commentary on her death.
In the first call, she was reported to scream: “Mom, the bear is eating me! Mom, it’s such agony. Mom, help!”
Initially, Olga’s Mom thought she was joking.
“But then I heard the real horror and pain in Olga’s voice, and the sounds of a bear growling and chewing,” said Tatiana.
Tatiana was also unaware that the same bear had already brutally killed her husband Igor, by overpowering him.
The bear broke Olga’s stepdad’s neck and smashed his skull.
Olga fled for 70 yards after seeing the attack on her stepfather.
However, the mother bear grabbed her leg.
In a second call to her mother, a now powerless Olga said: “Mom, the bears are back.
“She came back and brought her three babies.
“They’re… eating me.”
The mother bear and her cubs were later shot and killed by hunters in order to prevent any further attacks.
