List Of European Countries That Have Just Been Banned From Entering The US
The White House has issued a list of EU countries that have now been banned from America, following tensions between the two over the President’s proposal to annex Greenland.
It’s safe to say that tensions within the US are currently at an all-time high.
Between Trump‘s threats to invade Greenland against the will of NATO, potentially breaking alliances that date back several decades, to sending ICE agents into numerous states, people are extremely apprehensive.
Tensions are rising in the US
Protests and disruption has erupted across numerous US cities following the death of the 37-year-old mom-of-three, Renee Good, at the hands of ICE officer Jonathan Ross.
The US citizen was the victim of three consecutively deadly gunshots fired by the officer, who was trained by the immigration’s special response team, and has served for more than 10 years.

After Vice President JD Vance claimed that Ross had ‘absolute immunity‘ from prosecution, given that the 43-year-old was simply ‘doing his job,’ the FBI has since dropped its investigation into the shooting.
Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche confirmed: “The Department of Justice, our civil rights unit, we don’t just go out and investigate every time an officer is forced to defend himself against somebody putting his life in danger. We never do.”
He added: “We investigate when it’s appropriate to investigate and that is not the case here.”
Trump says ‘it’s time’ to annex Greenland
The US President has quite frankly shocked the world after imposing steep tariffs on some of America’s closest allies, following the EU’s resistance to his proposal regarding Greenland.
European countries, including France, Germany, the United Kingdom, and Denmark, which owns Greenland as a semi-autonomous territory, have pushed back on Trump’s plan to annex the island.

In response, the President threatened to impose 10% tariffs on six EU countries, if a deal over Greenland is not reached, with scope to increase them by July to 25%.
Trump has stated that there is ‘no going back’ on his plan, adding that ‘Greenland is imperative for national and world security.’
He stated: “Now it is time, and it will be done!!!”
Why is Trump banning countries from America?
Following the Trump administration’s crackdown on illegal immigration across America, the President has taken things a step further.
Trump has now banned immigrants from 75 different countries across the world, including six European countries.
The President, who has tightened immigration controls since returning to the White House in January, said the travel ban is a necessary measure, because of what his administration describes as ‘failures’ in screening and vetting systems elsewhere.

Reasons for the ban also include high numbers of people overstaying their visas, unreliable civil records, terrorist activity, and lack of cooperation in accepting those who have been deported.
What has been the response?
Public reaction to Trump’s controversial ban has been mixed, with MAGA supporters stating that this is exactly what they voted for, while others feel it risks harming innocent people.
One user on X (formerly Twitter) said: “This is about national security and rule of law, not politics.
“Every country has the right to control its borders, vet entrants and pause travel when risks are high. America first means protecting Americans first.”
As another added: “America really locked the doors, Trump is making ‘closed for business’ official.”

While another noted: “Including family members of citizens is going to separate a lot of people. This is definitely going to spark some huge legal battles soon.”
Others are concerned about how the ban will impact those wanting to attend the FIFA World Cup, which will be jointly hosted this year by America, Canada, and Mexico.
Journalist Piers Morgan, who is also a long-time friend of the President’s, suggested: “Maybe England, France, Spain, Germany, Portugal, Netherlands, Norway and Italy should all pause participation in the World Cup while the various tariff negotiations continue with President Trump?”
What does the ban mean?
According to the administration, the ban targets applicants that officials deem likely to become a ‘public charge’ – people who they believe may rely on government benefits.
But the ban means different things for different countries.
The suspension will only affect foreign citizens who are seeking to immigrate to America via sponsorship, it does not apply to nationals from the list of countries, who are seeking non-immigrant visas, temporary tourist, or business visas.

However, some countries do have a full travel ban imposed on them, meaning tourists will not be able to travel to the US for the World Cup, or any other reasons.
But it remains true that for the majority of football fans from countries on the list wanting to attend the World Cup, should face no problems.
Which European countries are banned?
The European and nearby countries that are included in the immigrant visa processing pause are: Albania, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Moldova, and Montenegro.
Critics of the policy have raised concerns over the impact it will have on families and legal immigration routes, while supporters argue these steps are necessary to secure the future safety of America.
