Several celebrities have faced backlash for their controversial comments following the death of Charlie Kirk.

While many A-listers have spoken out and paid tribute to Kirk, 31, who was shot on a university campus in Utah earlier this month (September 10), some have also found themselves in hot water.

The right-wing activist had been speaking to crowds of students when a single bullet struck him in the neck.

The Turning Point USA founder, 31, was seen collapsing in his chair, while blood was pouring from the wound.

Despite Kirk’s team’s best efforts to rush him to a nearby hospital that was four miles away from the campus, doctors were unable to save his life.

A man named Tyler Robinson was apprehended in custody after a 33-hour manhunt, which resulted in the 22-year-old handing himself in to authorities.

And while many celebrities have publicly paid their respect to the father-of-two, many big names have also been criticized for their reactions.

The Insecure star has been very vocal since the murder of Kirk, noting that the MAGA activist did not ‘believe’ in empathy.

She noted: “He said it’s a bad thing.

“He said it’s some ‘new-age made-up s***.’

“He also said people got to be sacrificed in order to protect guns.

“If he was saying that while fighting for reparations, I may have a little bit of empathy.”

Seales added: “I can’t have empathy because I have no connectivity.

“I have more connectivity to someone who is a complete stranger that dies of a drug overdose than I do to someone like Charlie Kirk.

“Because life is hard and I understand that.

“Because it takes very little for someone to end up committing themselves to an existence of numbness.”

Michael Keaton

American actor Keaton suggested that there was an ‘irony’ in Kirk’s death.

In a statement, he said: “Before we start to get into the meat of this thing, I’m going to take a minute to say that, regardless of how I probably – not probably – have disagreed with many things he said, Charlie Kirk leaves behind two kids and a wife.

“You gotta remember that.

“Because in the end, shooting people will never answer anything, and the irony that he was killed with a gun is unbelievable.”

Author Stephen King did not mince his words when speaking about the death of the right-wing activist.

Writing on X, formerly Twitter, he said: “He advocated stoning gays to death. Just sayin.”

After receiving a flurry of hateful comments, he added: “I apologize for saying Charlie Kirk advocated stoning gays.

“What he actually demonstrated was how some people cherry-pick Biblical passages.”

Elon Musk was quick to criticize King’s comment, simply replying with the word ‘Liar.’
