Officials Say Human Remains Believed To Be Dad Accused Of Killing His Three Daughters
Officials believe they have found the remains of a dad who is accused of killing his three daughters, following a three-month manhunt.
Travis Decker was wanted on first-degree murder and kidnapping charges by the U.S. Marshals Service after he allegedly murdered his three young daughters, five-year-old Olivia, eight-year-old Evelyn, and nine-year-old Paityn.
Officials have claimed he did so by suffocating them with a plastic bag on May 30.
Their bodies were located near Decker’s abandoned car, days after the killing on June 2, near a Washington state campground.
What was supposed to be a three-hour ‘planned visitation’ as part of his arranged joint custody schedule, morphed into a devastating crime scene, as well as a relentless manhunt for the 32-year-old.
But officials now believe they have found human remains which appear to be belonging to the suspect.

For many months, local, state, and federal officials have searched for Decker, who is an army veteran skilled in wilderness survival, without knowing whether he was still alive.
Remains were located in a remote wooded area, south of the town of Leavenworth, Washington, the sheriff’s office said in a statement shared on Thursday (September 18).
They happened to be a few miles from where Decker’s daughters’ bodies were found in June.
The statement revealed: “While positive identification has not yet been confirmed, preliminary findings suggest the remains belong to Travis Decker.”
The girls’ mother reported them missing on May 30, after Decker failed to return his daughters to her home in Wenatchee, Washington, following the visit.

Prior to this breakthrough, there was a reward of $20,000 in place for information leading to Decker’s arrest.
Speaking to People before allegedly finding his body, Sheriff Mike Morrison said: “I would imagine most likely if he were to have died, it would’ve been from falling; an injury maybe got infected to the point where it did cause him, you know, some further issues or he drowned.
“There’s certainly a lot of possibilities and if we do find him deceased, of course we’re going to do a full autopsy on him just to get confirmation on his cause of death.”
He has now stated that the body showed signs of severe decomposition, but expects DNA results from the coroner’s office as soon as today (September 19).
The discovery marks the end of a vast search operation in a shocking case that has gripped the entire nation.
