King Charles ‘Seriously Unwell’ In Rare Cancer Update
A Buckingham Palace insider has claimed that King Charles is ‘seriously unwell’ in a devastating health update.
King Charles became the UK‘s monarch in September 2022, making him the oldest person to take to the British throne, at the age of 73.
It was announced that the King had been diagnosed with cancer earlier last year, and he has silently been battling the disease in the months that have followed.
The specifics of his diagnosis were not made public knowledge, which was considered to be a well-thought through move from the King.
A source told The Times in 2024: “The king’s decision not to reveal the type of cancer was a conscious choice to be able to reach out to the widest number of people who are experiencing the disease, rather than narrow the focus onto a particular form of cancer.”
The King has been candid about his cancer battle in recent months, revealing that he was not doing ‘too bad’ during a public engagement.
But insiders have claimed that he is ‘exhausted’ from ongoing treatment.
The source claimed that despite his allegedly declining health, the King is ‘determined’ to carry on fulfilling his royal duties for as long as he can.
Dame Joanna Lumley, a friend of the King’s, has also given an insight into the monarch, whom she previously described as being ‘really ill.’
Speaking to Saga Magazine, she revealed: “He’s exceptionally brave, because he really is ill, but practically nobody can keep up with him.
“He packs so much into every day, he walks faster than anybody I’ve ever met – he’s incredible.”
Speaking to journalist Rob Shuter, the source claimed that the monarch is ‘seriously unwell but determined to carry on.’
They added: “He’s exhausted, but he won’t stop.
“Every morning he insists on reading his red boxes.
“He believes his service to the country is his calling – and he’ll keep going as long as he can.”
Meanwhile, it’s been said that Prince William has been quietly taking on more duties in preparation.
The source claimed that they are ‘quietly preparing William to step up – fast,’ as ‘the illusion of perfect health is collapsing.’
Despite the reports, Prince William recently noted in an interview that his dad’s treatment was heading in the right direction.
Talking with Eugene Levy for Apple TV, the future king said: “Everything is progressing in the right way, which is all good news.”
In December, the King gave an update on his cancer treatment in a televised speech.
He said candidly: “I know from my own experience that a cancer diagnosis can feel overwhelming.
“But I have also learned something that troubles me deeply – at least nine million people in our country are not up to date with the cancer screenings available to them.”
He added: “Early diagnosis quite simply saves lives.
“Indeed, today I am able to share with you the good news that thanks to early diagnosis, effective intervention and adherence to ‘doctors’ orders,’ my own schedule of cancer treatment can be reduced in the new year.
“This milestone is both a personal blessing and a testimony to the remarkable advances that have been made in cancer care in recent years.”
