Over the weekend, he attended the LIV Golf tournament at Trump National Golf Club in Sterling, Virginia — one of several Trump-owned golf properties that have hosted events tied to the Saudi-backed golf league, the Daily Beast reports.
The appearance reignited criticism from ethics experts who argue Trump’s businesses continue benefiting from his presidency, particularly through high-profile events held at Trump-owned venues.
Still, the President appeared relaxed as he watched the tournament alongside his son Eric behind bulletproof glass due to ongoing security concerns.
That’s when cameras captured a quiet conversation between the pair that quickly drew attention online.
Lip reader claims Trump opened up
Video clips circulating on social media showed Trump and Eric chatting casually while observing the tournament from a protected VIP area.
Although no audio was publicly available, professional lip reader Nicola Hickling later analyzed the footage and shared what she believed the pair was discussing with Metro.
According to Hickling, Trump referenced a previous conversation he had with another of his children about his upcoming birthday.
The alleged exchange immediately sparked headlines because it appeared to reveal a more reflective side of Trump rarely seen in public.
For years, the President has projected confidence bordering on invincibility, often dismissing criticism and avoiding moments of visible vulnerability.
But Hickling claims this conversation sounded noticeably more personal.
The lip reader alleged Trump discussed how hearing his age spoken out loud affected him emotionally.
She also claimed the President attempted to quickly reassure himself afterward by insisting age is more about mindset than numbers.

According to Nicola Hickling, Trump told Eric that one of his children recently reminded him about the milestone birthday.
‘Dad, you know you’re going to be 80 years old?’ the family member allegedly said.
Trump then reportedly confessed: ‘After he said this, I felt old.’
