White House Issues Major Update On ICE Agents Who Fatally Shot Alex Pretti
The White House has issued a major update on the ICE agents who fatally shot Alex Pretti just last week (January 24).
Brutality on the streets of Minnesota at the hands of ICE agents has entered its ninth week, following the death of two US citizens shot dead by officers this month.
Americans have protested in their thousands across numerous US states, demanding that the Trump administration put an end to what they have described as an extreme abuse of power.

Renee Good, a 37-year-old mom-of-three, was the first to be fatally shot in Minneapolis by federal law enforcement, while behind the wheel of her car.
But tensions reached new heights when a second person, 37-year-old intensive care nurse Pretti, was fatally shot in the same city, in almost the same circumstances.
On both occasions, ICE claimed that it fired in self-defense, but as footage of both attacks continues to circulate on social media, people are beginning to cast doubt over that narrative.
Who is Alex Pretti?
Following the death of their son, Pretti’s family have broken their silence.
They paid tribute to the nurse, who worked in Minneapolis caring for American veterans.
“We are heartbroken but also very angry,” the family wrote in a statement.
“Alex was a kindhearted soul who cared deeply for his family and friends and also the American veterans whom he cared for as an ICU nurse at the Minneapolis VA hospital. Alex wanted to make a difference in this world.”

The family went onto brand him as a ‘hero,’ after video clips showed him protecting a woman being attacked by ICE in his final moments.
“The sickening lies told about our son by the administration are reprehensible and disgusting,” they added.
“Alex is clearly not holding a gun when attacked by Trump’s murdering and cowardly ICE thugs. Please get the truth out about our son. He was a good man.”
Has MAGA turned against the Second Amendment?
Clips that have since gone viral of Pretti’s final moments display him exercising his First and Second Amendment rights – the right to freedom of expression, and to bear arms.
Minneapolis police later confirmed that Pretti was a licensed gun owner in the city, and that as per the constitution, he was within his right to bear arms at the time he was approached by law enforcement.
The US political organization NRA (National Rifle Association) has spoken out against the Trump administration, after officials said the firing was justified as self-defense, citing the fact that Pretti was armed.

But the NRA have branded this rhetoric as ‘dangerous and wrong.’
Given that Pretti did not brandish his weapon during the struggle, the NRA are demanding a ‘full investigation’ into whether the shooting was really justified in self-defense.
Following the backlash, the White House have now issued a significant update.
Two agents shot Alex Pretti
Aside from the major update, the White House revealed just yesterday (January 28) that it was actually two officers who fatally shot Pretti on Saturday.
Devastating details about the case have since emerged, with one eyewitness alleging that officers ‘maneuvered his body around like a rag doll’ following his death.
Speaking to CNN, the eyewitness claimed: “They wanted to count the bullet wounds to see how many they got, like he was a deer.”

Following the backlash the Trump administration has received following the deaths of two US citizens at the hands of ICE, it seems officials have now backtracked on their original narratives.
As a result, the President has stated that there will be a full investigation into Pretti’s death.
Furthermore, Trump sacked the agent leading the operation in Minnesota, Gregory Bovino.
He has now replaced him with his ‘‘border tsar’ Tom Homan, who he has described as ‘tough but fair.’
And now the White House has issued a major update.
White House major update
Following the backlash the administration has received in the wake of Pretti and Good’s death, they have announced that the agents who shot Pretti will now be placed on leave.
It is currently unclear when the agents were put on leave, or how long they will stay off the job.

However, it is quite typical circumstances for federal law-enforcement agents involved in a shooting to remain on leave while the incident is investigated.
The agents are also yet to be identified.
This is different to the shooting of Good, who’s shooter was identified as 43-year-old Jonathan Ross, whom JD Vance stated was granted ‘absolute immunity‘ from prosecution.
