Jeffrey Dahmer’s Killer Christopher Scarver Explains Why He Did It
The man who killed Jeffrey Dahmer says the notorious serial killer ‘crossed the line’ by taunting inmates about his lust for human flesh.
Christopher Scarver, 53, beat the Milwaukee Cannibal, 34, and another prisoner to death in 1994.
He told the New York Post in 2015 that he ‘despised’ Dahmer, as he would ‘fashion severed limbs out of food’ and then drizzle ketchup on them to look like blood.
Scarver said: “He would put them in places where people would be. He crossed the line with some people – prisoners, prison staff.

“Some people who are in prison are repentant – but he was not one of them.”
Scarver was committed to Columbia Correctional Institution in Wisconsin alongside Dahmer in 1992 after murdering a supervisor over unpaid wages.
He says he ‘knew to keep his distance’ from the infamous killer, who commanded a personal security guard at all times due to strained relations with other inmates.
He added: “I saw heated interactions between [Dahmer] and other prisoners from time to time.”
Scarver never interacted with the serial killer – unwilling to be a victim of his wicked sense of humour – until November 1994 when Scarver, Dahmer and another inmate, Jesse Anderson, found themselves unsupervised and unshackled while carrying out cleaning duties.

Scarver, then 25, kept a newspaper story in his pocket while in prison, which detailed the depraved acts Dahmer committed.
It described how Dahmer killed, dismembered — and in some cases ate — 17 men and boys from 1978 to 1991.
His killing spree is now the subject of a hit Netflix series, Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, in which he is portrayed by Evan Peters.
According to The Post, Scarver was filling a bucket with water when he was ‘poked in the back’ by Dahmer and fellow killer Anderson who were ‘kind of laughing under their breath’.
Later, he took a metal bar from the weight room and approached Dahmer, then 34, to confront him.
He said: “I asked him if he did those things ’cause I was fiercely disgusted. He was shocked. Yes, he was.
“He started looking for the door pretty quick. I blocked him. He ended up dead. I put his head down.”
Dahmer was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital a short time later. He suffered massive skull and facial fractures.
Scarver then attacked fellow inmate Anderson, 37, explaining: “Pretty much the same thing [happened] — got his head put out.”
Anderson, who was convicted of murdering his wife, died of similar injuries two days later.
Scarver initially told a prison guard that ‘God told him to do it’, according to a Chicago Tribune report from 1996.
He told staff he did not plan the acts or discuss them with anyone else and that he attacked the two men because ‘the spirit’ came upon him.
“You will hear about it on the 6 o’clock news. Jesse Anderson and Jeffrey Dahmer are dead,” he reportedly said.
Investigators at the prison said Scarver told them that he ‘was simply submitting to the will of God and that he was simply a tool used by the spirit.’

Scarver later told The New York Post he killed Anderson just after murdering Dahmer because he had defaced a painting of Martin Luther King and tried to frame Black men for his wife’s murder.
The Post reported that this led Scarver, who is Black, to believe Anderson, a white man, was racist.
He also claims he was deliberately left alone with Dahmer as prison officers ‘knew he hated him’.
Since Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story has aired and hit the headlines, Scarver has garnered significant attention from viewers.
He is currently serving three life sentences with no chance of parole at the Centennial Correctional Facility, Colorado.
Scarver’s son, also named Christopher Scarver, spoke out about the incident in a 2014 interview with CNN.
When reporter Jean Casarez asked if his dad had been ‘set up’ by guards he said his father should never have been left alone with the two men in prison.
Scarver Jr replied: “I think about that all the time.”
