Olly Alexander Will Stop Wearing Savage X Fenty After Rihanna Signs Up Johnny Depp For Fashion Show
Olly Alexander says he will stop wearing Rihanna’s Savage X Fenty range after Johnny Depp appeared in the star’s fashion show.
The Years & Years lead singer decided to boycott the brand after the Pirates of the Caribbean star made an appearance in the fashion brand’s Volume 4 show.
Depp can be seen midway through the performance as he appears out from behind a tree while Outkast’s ‘So Fresh, So Clean’ plays.
The Edward Scissorhands star’s cameo lasted only 40 seconds before the show faded into the next scene, reports NME.

Depp’s appearance comes just months after his high-profile defamation trial against ex-wife Amber Heard, which he eventually won.
The actor sued his ex-wife for $50 million after the Aquaman star made domestic violence claims in a 2018 op-ed for The Washington Post. She counterclaimed for $100m.
Although the article didn’t mention Depp by name, his lawyers argued that Heard had falsely implied he had abused her while they were together.
Eventually, the jury found that Heard’s op-ed for The Washington Post was defamatory. So Depp was awarded $15 million in damages.

However, Heard was awarded $2 million in compensatory damages as it was found in her countersuit, she did not prove all elements of defamation.
During the trial, many explosive allegations against Depp and Heard were made.
Retweeting an article confirming Depp’s appearance, Alexander posted an exaggerated sad face.
In response, a fan said: “Savage X Fenty is you baby……. You wear it so well.”
“Thank you but after this news, I won’t be wearing it anymore,” Alexander replied.

His post has gained a staggering 27,000 likes and more than 1,500 retweets since being posted on November 3.
Hundreds have taken to the comments and shared their thoughts on Alexander’s statement.
“Love you and stand with you King,” one tweeted.
Another added: “I admire your principles every time and seriously take my hat off to you as it’s soo easy to get swallowed up by the industry and not look beyond the surface of things.”
“Thank you for taking a stand on this, Olly. So many people wouldn’t for fear of offending their fanbase. It’s not about taking sides but about standing up for basic human decency,” a third wrote.
“No one won in this case. But a lot of eyes were opened.”
Others have taken to the comments and defended Rihanna’s decision to include Depp in her fashion show.
“It was unanimously decided by the jury that she lied with malice,” one argued.
A second said: “You’re kidding, right?”
While another questioned: “Didn’t Johnny Depp win the trial?”
At the time of writing, Rihanna has yet to address Alexander’s comment.
The Savage X Fenty show Volume 4 debuts on Amazon Prime on November 9.
