PewDiePie has confirmed that his beloved dog, a pug named Maya, has sadly died aged 17.
The YouTuber, whose real name is Felix Arvid Ulf Kjellberg, is one of the most successful personalities on the video-sharing platform.
His two pugs, named Maya and Edgar, were often featured in his videos and they became beloved by fans.
Now sadly one of them has passed away.

PewDiePie and his wife Marzia shared the heartbreaking news about Maya in an Instagram post.
He wrote: “Said farewell to my little Maya this morning… 17 years is a long time for a pug, but no time in the world would’ve ever been enough.
“I didn’t think I could love a dog as much as I loved her.”
He continued: “Thank you for all the wonderful time we got to spend with you. Thank you for always making my days brighter. Thank you for bringing me closer to Marzia.
“I will miss you so much and I already do. You will always be in my heart Maya.”
People took to the comments to express their condolences to the YouTuber.

YouTuber, singer, and boxer KSI wrote: “RIP :(.”
Someone else commented: “We all understand if you want to take some time off of YouTube to grieve. We are all here for you.”
“She had such a great life, rest in peace little one,” another person commented.
A fourth added: “So sorry to hear, this sucks.
“Her presence in your videos was a huge part of my childhood. Rest in peace to the legend and my condolences.”
“I’ve been watching you for years and have watched Maya grow older, but I was not ready to see her go,” expressed another.

PewDiePie has been open about the decline in his pug’s health difficulties as she began suffering from dementia this year and previously lost one of her eyes.
In an earlier video, he said to his viewers: “We’ll see how she develops but Maya has the ‘dementies’.
“She’s so old. Her mind is kind of declining a bit.”

PewDiePie made a name for himself in the early 2010s for his popular ‘Let’s Play’ video game series, which would see him stream a mixture of horror and action games.
He would then branch out into uploading vlogs, comedy shorts, and even delved into music.
At one point Time magazine even named him one of the 100 most influential people in the world.
However, he recently lost his title as the world’s most subscribed YouTuber after being overtaken by MrBeast.
While PewDiePie had 111 million subscribers, MrBeast has 122 million.
With around 28.7 billion views on his channel, he still remains one of the most popular YouTubers today.
