Adrian Schiller Dead: The Last Kingdom star has sadly died aged 60 years old.

British actor Adrian Schiller has sadly died aged 60. 

Schiller, who was born in London, was a professionally credited star, with appearances in Prime Suspect, Ghosts and the TV movie RKO 281.

He also had credits in A Touch of Frost, My Family, Judge John Deed and Silent Witness.

But arguably, Schiller was best known for his role as Aethelhelm in the historical drama The Last Kingdom, which has been branded ‘one of the best series in history’.

While for some, he’ll be remembered in Victoria, in which he played Mr Penge.

Tragically, it has now been disclosed that the beloved star has passed away.

Talent agency Scott Marshall Partners, who represented Schiller, have shared a heartfelt statement in memory of the actor.

It reads: “He has died far too soon, and we, his family and close friends are devastated by the loss.

“A prodigiously talented actor, he had just returned from Sydney, where he had been appearing in The Lehman Trilogy and was looking forward to continuing the international tour in San Francisco.”

The agency adds: “Our deepest condolences go to his family, who ask for privacy at this most difficult of times.”

Tributes are now pouring in for Schiller, with the outgoing director of the National Theatre, Rufus Norris, sharing that he has been left ‘deeply saddened and shocked’ by the actor’s passing.

“Adrian was a wonderful actor, and the National Theatre had the pleasure of working with him throughout the breadth of his career,” he says.

“His recent performance as Henry Lehman in the Australian premiere of The Lehman Trilogy was superb and his presence within the company will be greatly missed.”

The Marylebone Theatre, at which Schiller played a part in the World War Two play The White Factory, has also spoken out, saying it is ‘devastated to hear of the passing of the incredible actor’.

While fans have also taken to X (formerly known as Twitter) and paid tribute, with one penning: “What sad news… saw him in several plays and his acting always made a great impression on me.”

Another says: “I’m numb at the news that Adrian Schiller has died suddenly. A great actor, and a great soul.

“Whether it was Shakespeare, TV drama or new plays, he graced every company he was in and brought talent, fierce intelligence and huge heart to all he did.”

Schiller is survived by his wife Milena and young son Gabriel.

The actor’s sister, Ginny, also confirmed the upsetting news in a message posted on the star’s X account.

She adds that a trust has been set up in Schiller’s son’s name, writing: “For now, we’re taking things one step at a time, supporting Milena and Gabriel as best we can and trying to get our heads around the unimaginable.

“Please don’t send flowers but if anyone wants to make a gesture, we will be setting up a trust for Gabriel and there’s a link below.”

MailOnline has confirmed with Schiller’s agent that the page is legitimate and the funds will be used to support the actor’s family.

At the time of writing, the star’s cause of death has yet to be confirmed. However, it has been disclosed that Schiller died ‘suddenly and unexpectedly’.
