A famous dog trainer has taken to TikTok and shared a list of dog breeds that he would never consider owning.
The topic of dogs is huge news at the moment, especially with the controversy surrounding American XL Bullies.
But the truth is, each pedigree dog comes with its own unique challenges, whether they stem from behaviour or health concerns.
And now one dog trainer – who is the founder of Florida-based training school America Standard K9 Training – has gone viral after revealing which three he’d personally never own.

TikToker Garret Wing, who is well known for his valuable dog training advice, has firm convictions about which dogs he’d prefer not to have as pets – and he’s caused quite a bit of a stir in his comments section.
Many chihuahua owners have taken to the comments and defended the dog breed, with one person penning: “My chihuahua is an angel. It’s all about early training, don’t be discouraged! Mine is super friendly towards strangers and all it wants is cuddles.”
“Chihuahuas are actually very smart, their aggressive behaviour actually comes from people treating them like a toy instead of a dog,” says a second user.
However, others have taken to the comments and defended Wing.
One person jokes: “Chihuahuas are like cats, you either get a satan or a saint.”
One breed on his list of dogs he’d avoid owning is the bloodhound, primarily due to their oily skin.
“That oily skin makes them stink like no other dog. I don’t care how many baths you give them they just have a smell about them that’s hard to get rid of,” he says.

He reveals that the number one dog breed he would never own is the Central Asian Shepherd, also known as the Alabai.
Wing explains: “The males can get over 170 pounds and they are great livestock guardians. The problem is I don’t have any livestock. Now if you have livestock at home then you might get this dog to help protect the flock.”
The third breed that Wing wouldn’t own is the chihuahua, which was a surprise to many of his viewers.
In his video, the TikToker comments: “If I needed a 3-lb demon from the underworld that served no other purpose than to sit on my lap and bite anything that comes within three feet range of me, then I’d get a chihuahua. But it’ll be a hard pass for me on that one.”
