A woman has left the internet divided after sharing the gift she was given after breaking up with her boyfriend of seven years.
Break-ups can be absolutely horrible. But sometimes, in the days and weeks following the relationship, there’s a sign that you definitely made the right decision.
And for one woman, this definitely seems to be the case…
Rachel, known as @self_daily_love on TikTok, shared the ‘manipulative’ gift she received from her ex after their breakup.
And people have been left divided in the comments as to whose side they’re on…

Rachel first confirms that she never felt happy in the relationship.
She explains that it ‘would not have lasted more than six months if I’d loved myself’.
Her viral video is captioned: “I dumped him after seven years and he gave me this gift.”
She then shows herself unboxing a self-help book titled ‘Fall in Love with Yourself’ by Angel Gaudia, which is carefully wrapped in red and pink paper with hearts.
And to make things even more controversial, Rachel shares the note her ex-partner had added to the parcel.
“I know you don’t love me anymore, love yourself now,” he’d added.
The video has quickly taken off online and currently has more than 12 million views and two million likes.
But people have been left completely divided on the intentions behind the gift – with people on both sides of the debate feeling very strongly!
Many thought the gift was sweet and heartfelt.
“Get your boy back!” one viewer pleas.
Another affirms: “That’s your soulmate!”
“Are you sure you don’t love him? I’d cry if my ex did that for me,” a third person questions.
Others were curious about the reason the relationship ended, to which Rachel has responded that it just ‘didn’t work out’, and when asked if there was a chance of reconciliation, she replied that it was ‘too late’.
However, other viewers believe the choice of gift is a little passive-aggressive…

“This is a way of manipulating her to think she doesn’t love herself or doesn’t know her own worth and like he has the power to ‘teach’ her,” one writes.
Another adds: “We all want you to burn his gift.”
Others, still, were left in two minds about the ex’s intentions.
One comments: “Can’t tell if it’s manipulative or genuine…”
“Pretty sure he’s telling her to go love herself and learn what she wants to do by exploring and living life to the fullest. It’s not always manipulation,” says a second.
While a third agrees, penning: “They always do what you were asking for the whole time after it’s too late.”
