Holland’s foray into the entertainment world began when he took up dancing as a hobby at the tender age of nine.
His dancing talents led him to the West End, where he starred as a child in the renowned Billy Elliot the Musical back in 2008.
The young actor’s potential was evident, and soon, Holland made his mark in the film industry with his exceptional performance in the disaster drama The Impossible.
His portrayal of a tourist trapped in a tsunami earned him the prestigious London Film Critics Circle Award for the Young British Performer of the Year.

The Uncharted actor’s dad, Dominic Holland, is a renowned comedian and actor which surprisingly, not many people are aware of.
Dominic, who is married to Holland’s mum Nikki Holland, has an impressive CV of his own.
He won the Comic Heritage Award for his BBC Radio 4 series The Small World of Dominic Holland.
And in 2017, Dominic released a well-reviewed book titled ‘Eclipsed’, which shed light on Holland’s extraordinary success overshadowing his father’s achievements, while also unravelling the journey of a family navigating through the unpredictable world of entertainment.
Dominic also poked fun at the fact he’s not nearly as much a household name as his son in an op-ed for the Daily Mail, in which he wrote: “I have been trying to make it as a star for a long time.
“For more than 20 years, my entire income has come from making people laugh – or trying to… So, looking at my son, Tom, standing next to me in the immigration queue at the airport in Los Angeles, I realised that, at the tender age of 16, he had already eclipsed his father’s own show business career.”
