Experts are issuing a warning over the ‘gooning’ fetish, which could potentially lead to problems in the bedroom.

When it comes to intimacy, there are many trends you can try to spice things up – from ‘sploshing‘ to the underrated praise kink.

However, there are some kinks and fetishes that may sound like a good idea but in the long run will not pay off.

One such trend is ‘gooning,’ which experts say could actually ruin your s** life.

‘Gooning’ is said to be drastically rising in popularity, with the MailOnline reporting that the s**ual practise has increased by around 800 percent in recent years.

According to online forums, where fans of the fetish open up about their experiences, ‘gooning’ can last anywhere from an hour to seven or more.

While people may think this is something to boast about, experts say otherwise, with the health problems it can trigger being alarming.

Dr. Richard Viney, a consultant urological surgeon at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, U.K., says the unusual practise is taken on by men seeking an ‘transcendental s**ual experience.’

The doctor tells MailOnline that the fetish is an attempt at prolonging a s**ual act and enhancing the experience.

Yet he also says there’s no evidence it works and if anything, it could be making s**ual activities worse.

‘Gooning’ involves men undertaking ‘marathon’ m**turbatory sessions while avoiding or delaying an org**m.

Those who participate in the practise are said to rely ‘heavily on p***ography’ and it can ‘desensitize the individual to real s**ual encounters.’

But what ‘gooners’ may find the most alarming of all is that it comes with the risk of er**tile dysfunction when engaging intimately with a partner.

“A man can find he needs p**nography to get aroused rather than on the presence and touch of his partner,” Dr. Viney explains.

“Difficulties with er**tions and s**ual performance can then lead to performance anxiety making the s**ual issues more embedded.”

Dr. Paula Hall also shares her concerns regarding the bedroom kink.

While the doctor says it’s fine for the ‘occasional treat,’ she has her concerns when it comes to it being a frequent habit.

“It’s no different than occasionally binge-watching a boxed-set,” Dr. Hall says. “But doing it five or six hours every day of the week is unlikely to be beneficial.”

The expert also says ‘gooning’ could lead to a p**nography addiction, as repeating any behavior makes it ‘habituated.’

It’s unclear how many people participate in the s**ual trend, however, interest in the term is said to have skyrocketed based on Google search patterns.
