‘Macarena’ Song Includes Rude Lyrics And People Are Just Realising
The Spanish pop classic ‘Macarena’ has a rather rude meaning and people are horrified after learning it.
Nineties kids will probably recall those nostalgic school discos which included dancefloor classics from pop legends such as the Spice Girls, Boyzone and S Club 7.
But there was also the hugely popular 1993 track ‘Macarena’ by the Spanish Latin pop and dance duo Los Del Río – which you’ll probably still hear at parties even now.
This particular childhood classic may potentially be ruined for you, as people are now taking to the internet and breaking down what the track is actually about.

A guy called Jake Randall has gone viral on TikTok after exposing the song’s true meaning.
He captioned the video: “That poor guy,” alongside a laughing emoji.
As many of the lyrics are in Spanish, it’s obviously challenging for people who don’t speak the language to understand.
However, the English verses in the song are pretty lively.

For example, one lyric goes: “When I dance, they call me Macarena, and the boys, they say que soy buena, they all want me, they can’t have me, so they all come and dance beside me, move with me, chant with me, and if you’re good, I’ll take you home with me.”
Certainly not the kind of music you’d typically envision an eight-year-old grooving to, huh?

In Randall’s video, the TikToker focuses on a small section of the track which says: “Now, come on, what was I supposed to do?
“He was out of town and his two friends were so fine.”
Then there’s also the famous chorus – which you’ll all remember if you’ve been to any school disco – which is in Spanish, and it roughly translates to wanting to do ‘good things’ to your body, and to give your body ‘joy’.

It’s either a case of the older generation having overly suggestive minds and this being entirely innocent – or our fears turning out to be true, and as kids, we were unknowingly dancing to songs with s**ual undertones about cheating.
It’s safe to say that TikTok users have been left shocked at this revelation about the pop classic.
One user writes: “This was playing on my sports day at school and everyone was dancing to it.”
A second person adds: “The fact when I was five they played this song in school.”
While a third comments: “My whole life was a lie.”
Somebody else says: “Omggg… Hearing ‘Macarena’ will never be the same in my ears now.”
