People Urge Woman To ‘Divorce’ Husband Over ‘Toxic’ Act At World Cup
A woman is being urged to divorce her husband after a clip of them went viral at the World Cup.
The couple appear to be part of a group of South Africa fans attending the match against South Korea in Monterrey, Mexico during the group stages on June 25.
A seemingly tense incident was captured on camera as the couple stood in the crowd wearing South Africa merchandise and waving their national flags.
After the incident was televised, the clip was widely circulated on social media, across X and TikTok.
Social media reacts to viral clip
One social media user shared the clip on X, writing: “How can I file for divorce for someone else?”
It seems other people felt the same after watching the exchange, with one person responding: “Men ruin everything! I’m sure he’s busy telling her she’s spoiling the day for everyone and why does she have to be like this.”
“Mood went from 100 to 0 in a split second,” a second wrote, while a third commented: “I could feel her heart sink into her stomach, because I’m also a woman.”
Meanwhile, others were quick to point out just how interested the camera operator must have been in the whole incident, as the shot even went as far as zooming in on the couple.
“Wow the cameraman is seriously invested in this,” one wrote, while another commented: “Cameraman nosy af.”
Comparisons to Coldplay kiss cam incident
After the clip went viral, many people were quick to draw comparisons between this incident and the huge scandal following the Coldplay kiss cam incident in Boston in July 2025.
“Must be the same Coldplay cameraman,” someone joked.
The incident, which made global news, unfolded when a man and a woman immediately jumped apart after Coldplay’s kiss cam landed on them in the crowd.
Their sudden movement prompted frontman Chris Martin to joke: “Either they’re having an affair or they’re very shy.”
However, after the incident was later shared on social media, the pair were identified Kristin Cabot, Chief People Officer at data and AI company Astronomer and the company’s CEO Andy Byron.
At the time, reports claimed they both had spouses, suggesting they were in fact having an affair, however Cabot revealed she had already separated from her husband and clarified she and Byron had only ever kissed.
In an interview, Cabot revealed she had suffered severe online harassment following the incident and has struggled to find work after the company’s board placed both her and Byron on leave while they reviewed the situation, prompting them to resign.

Woman urged to divorce husband
Now, back to the woman who is being urged to divorce her husband and there certainly are some similarities between the incidents, but they are not the same.
In the clip, the woman can be seen happily dancing, jumping up and down and celebrating, before the mood takes a sharp shift.
The camera operator captured her appearing to take issue with her partner after looking over his shoulder while he stands looking at his phone.
The woman appears visibly upset by whatever is on his phone screen, or perhaps the fact that he is on his own during the match, and decides to confront him.
According to social media users, the man appears to dismiss what the woman has to say, before putting his mobile phone away.
The pair continue to talk, and at one point the man looks visibly angry, prompting the woman to disengage and sit back down in her seat.
Despite looking over and see his partner seemingly upset, the man then turns to the woman on the other side of him and feeds her while continuing to dance and cheer.
And of course, people on the internet have been making their own minds up about what could’ve caused the row wit many suggesting he was texting another woman or even placing a bet on the game.
