An inventor dubbed ‘Dr Death’ has created a ‘suicide capsule’ that asks users three questions before they die.

A wild new invention being called a ‘suicide booth’ has left the internet shocked this week.

Controversial scientist Doctor Philip Nitschke has been dubbed ‘Dr Death’ and compared to the Elon Musk of assisted suicide.

He’s the founder of Exit International, a non-profit organisation that advocates for the use of assisted suicide or euthanasia.

Exit International’s philosophy is: “…That every adult of sound mind has the right to seek and receive information about and make plans for, their end of their life.

“Exit believes that control over one’s life and death to be a fundamental human right.

“Exit believes that the vast majority of right-to-die laws around the world are too restrictive.”

One of the more controversial projects under the Exit International umbrella is the Sarco pods.

These pods rapidly decrease in oxygen level, bringing down levels in the body from 21 per cent to only 1 per cent in about 30 seconds to induce hypoxia.

Users would feel ‘disoriented’ and then ‘euphoric’ before eventually losing consciousness and then passing away.

Speaking to LADbible in 2021, Nitschke explained: “I’ve always wanted to remove the role [and the] need for professional people to prescribe difficult drugs to use.

“The idea of using a gas, in this case an inert gas came up, because if you can find a suitably elegant and attractive container, climb in, and then flood that container with an inert gas like nitrogen so that the level of oxygen rapidly drops, you rapidly go into a state of cerebral hypoxia, which is pretty quick, and you’ll faint very quickly and die within a few minutes.

“That’s the idea behind it.”

Dr Nitschke told MailOnline: “We’re ready to use it… we’re talking to a number of people who are wanting to be the first to use it.”

But even more eerily, the capsules are designed to ask users three questions before they begin the assisted suicide process.

Dr Nitschke explained: “The person will climb into the machine, they will be asked three questions and they will answer verbally – ‘Who are you?’, ‘Where are you?’ and ‘Do you know what happens if you press the button?’.

“And if they answer those questions verbally, the software then switches the power on so that the button can then be pressed.

“And if they press the button they will die very quickly.”
