Disgusting Reason You Should Never Sleep Naked In Bed
There’s an off-putting reason you should never sleep naked in bed – no matter how tempting it may be.
There are a variety of different ways to get a good night’s sleep – from sleeping on your stomach to flipping your pillow over to the cool side.
Everybody has a preference, but a fan-favorite may no longer be an option.
Many people allege there is nothing quite as comfortable as sleeping in your birthday suit.
However, it may not seem as inviting once you find out what this can lead to.
The number of people who sleep naked varies significantly by country, but it’s estimated that about 17-29% of Americans and 22% of Brits, go for this option.
But an expert is now warning people to stop sleeping naked – even if it is boiling hot outside and seems like a simple solution.

Some find it much easier to get sleep without clothes on, and with many people getting fewer hours of kip than is recommended scientifically, it could be tempting to just forget the warning.
But TikTok account Shut Eye has stressed the importance of popping on some pajamas.
It’s been estimated that the average person gets between six and seven hours of sleep per night.
However, this is less than the recommended seven to nine hours of sleep that healthy adults need to function optimally.
Experts from Mayo Clinic have urged: “For adults, getting less than seven hours of sleep a night on a regular basis has been linked with poor health, including weight gain, having a body mass index of 30 or higher, diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, stroke, and depression.”
But here’s why you should avoid sleeping naked at all costs.

The TikTok clip explained: “Here’s why you should never sleep commando. The average person cracks one off 15 to 25 times a day, and this can happen when you’re sleeping.
“A scientific study has proven that every time you beep the horn, you spray a tiny amount of faecal material.”
So while you may feel a lot cooler without any clothes on, you’re also submerging yourself in some s***ty particles that are too small to see with the naked eye.
Which we know, is such lovely imagery.
Although this sounds pretty gross, the expert’s warning doesn’t seem to have deterred a lot of people.
One TikToker said: “Don’t tell me what to do…”
Another added: “Just wash the sheets.”
Somebody else noted: “Who f***ing cares, at least I’m single.”
While a fourth wrote: “Definitely still sleeping naked.”
Dr Anthony Youn on TikTok has also issued some important advice.
He added: “A study showed that your tighty whities will catch all of these particles.
“So for the sake of your bed partner, please sleep with your underwear on.”
For those who are going to ignore this warning, another expert has suggested how to limit the amount of faecal material nesting away in your sheets.
Dr Hana Patel tells HuffPost: “If you do choose to sleep naked, I would recommend that you wash your sheets at least once a week.
“When we sleep we shed hair, skin, saliva and faecal matter which is likely to be increased if you’re sleeping without pyjamas on.”
She adds: “Let’s not forget that over time your bedding will also collect dust mites so with increased bacteria in the sleep space, wash your bedding once a week.”
But it seems that the average person is washing their sheets a lot less than recommended.
The average person changes their sheets every 24 days, according to a survey of 1,000 Americans by Mattress Advisor.
But when it comes to sleeping naked, there isn’t really much research that shows whether its benefits outweigh its cons.
According to the Sleep Foundation, ‘there isn’t much scientific research studying the effects of sleeping nude, or reliable data on what percentage of people in the US sleep naked.’
