Reversing into a parking bay is a common aspect of driving, especially when heading to shops or events at locations with only bay parking available.
However, a lot of drivers still struggle with the move.
So a driving instructor has decided to shed some light on the most straightforward solution when it comes to reversing into parking spaces.

Over on the TikTok account @thecompletetheorytestkit, useful information videos are available for learner drivers who want to refine their skills.
One of the page’s experts has uploaded step-by-step instructions on how to reverse park every time and it’s now gone viral.
In the video, the driver positions the car close to the selected parking space and engages the reverse gear, ensuring that the reversing warning light is visible to the cars behind.
He then goes on to take a thorough check around the car, making sure there are no pedestrians or vehicles obstructing the path behind him.
It is helpful to note that the important part of reverse parking involves using ‘reference points’, which are stickers placed inside the front passenger door, just before the window and roughly aligned with the door handles.
Users following along with the helpful video are told that drivers attempting to reverse park should always ensure that their sticker is in line with the white lines of the parking bay on the road.
The instructor then goes on to ensure that he does another yet safety inspection around the vehicle before beginning the reversing manoeuvre with the steering wheel turned fully to the left, at full lock.

While reversing slowly, the instructor remains cautious of anybody coming from behind him, continuously monitoring the surroundings of the car by checking his mirrors and blind spots for any potential pedestrians or other vehicles approaching.
