X-Men Star Adan Canto’s Cause Of Death Confirmed

Adan Canto, an actor known for his role in X-Men, has had his cause of death confirmed by his publicist.

Earlier this week, it was tragically announced that actor Adan Canto had passed away.

He was known for his role in The Cleaning Lady – a TV series which follows a single mother who works for gangsters and criminals to provide for her family.

Canto had also gained roles in NarcosDesignated Survivor and X-Men: Days Of Future Past, in which he took on the part of the superhero mutant Sunspot.

And now, Canto’s cause of death has been disclosed by authorities.

Canto’s passing was announced in a joint statement by Fox Entertainment and Warner Bros. Television, as per The Wrap, which said: “We are heartbroken to learn of the passing of Adan Canto.

“A wonderful actor and dear friend, we were honoured to have him as part of the Warner Bros. Television and Fox Entertainment families since his U.S. debut in The Following more than a decade ago.

“Most recently, he lit up the screen in The Cleaning Lady with a powerful performance that showcased his artistry, range, depth and vulnerability.

“This is an unfathomable loss, and we grieve alongside his wife Stephanie, their children and loved ones. We will miss Adan dearly.”

Soon after, tributes to the beloved star came pouring in from fellow famous faces.

Halle Berry, who starred alongside Canto in X-Men and directed him in the film Bruised, posted on Instagram: “I don’t have the words just yet… but my dear sweet friend Adan just gained his wings. Forever, forever in my heart.”

Kiefer Sutherland – who starred with Canto in Designated Survivor – penned: “It seems lately I have had to make too many posts like this one, but I am heartbroken by the loss of Adan Canto.

“He was such a wonderful spirit. As an actor his desire to do well, to be great, and then do better, was truly impressive and he will be greatly missed.

“I am also heartbroken for his wife, Steph and his two young children. Adan, may you rest in peace.”

Canto’s publicist Jennifer Allen has now confirmed his death to the Associated Press, via Time Magazine.

Canto died of appendiceal cancer, a rare cancer that grows from cells that make up the appendix, per the the National Cancer Institute.

In the US, appendiceal cancer ‘has been thought to affect about 1 or 2 people per 1 million per year. However, recent studies show that appendiceal cancer is becoming more common’, the National Cancer Institute continues on its website.

“Adan had a depth of spirit that few truly knew. Those who glimpsed it were changed forever,” Allen writes in her statement. “He will be greatly missed by so many.”

Canto is survived by his wife Stephanie Ann Canto as well as his two children, Roman Alder, 3, and Eve Josephine, 1.
