The Insecure star has revealed that she is still a virgin at 39 and she’s opened up about her choice.
Yvonne Orji is an Emmy-nominated actress who is best known for her role as Molly Carter in the comedy-drama series Insecure – which follows two friends as they navigate their careers and love lives.
The HBO series ran for five seasons and launched the careers of Orji and Issa Rae (Spiderman: Across the Spiderverse).
Due to Insecure’s popularity, there has been an interest in Orji’s personal life – leading the actress to be very open about her relationships and experiences.

While appearing on Chelsea Handler’s podcast, Dear Chelsea, the Vacation Friends star was asked by the host if she was still a virgin.
Orji confirmed she still is, prompting Handler to respond: “Oh my God, I love this. This is the most original guest we’ve ever had on. And what are you, 39?
“Oh my God, that dam is going to break one day, baby.”
Orji then joked that she is actually more concerned about the man who eventually takes her virginity, saying: “People were like, ‘Oh, Yvonne, pray for him, whoever he is’. There’s a lot of pent-up energy up in here with me.”
Elsewhere in the podcast, listeners could phone in and ask for advice – which is when Orji further discussed her own experience when it comes to waiting for the moment with that special someone.
The Velma actress explained to one fan: “What happens with a lot of women who are waiting… they feel like it’s ‘The Scarlet Letter’.
“You know ‘what if you want to have s** with me, or what do I say, what if he doesn’t like me once I tell him I’m a virgin?’.
“It’s so much pressure, and I actually learned this a long time ago. It’s actually rude to the man to believe that all he wants from you is s**.”
This isn’t the first time that Orji has opened up about being a virgin in her thirties.
The star first discussed her virginity in an interview with People back in 2017, when she revealed that she was waiting until she got married to lose her V-card.
The Night School star explained at the time: “Before any of [the fame] happened, I sat down with myself and with God and thought, when I make it, how do you want me to represent you while I’m here?
“It was like, OK, I know why I’m here. It’s to make you proud.”

Orji went on to say that she is very open when it comes to discussing her personal life with people as she can understand their curiosity.
She feels that it’s better to come directly from herself rather than someone else creating speculation surrounding her.
Orji continued: “How will they ever get [to] understand if I don’t talk about it?
“I can inform your curiosity, as opposed to everyone being in the dark and just sort of creating their own narrative about it.”
Previously, Orji dated former NFL linebacker Emmanuel Acho, 32, from 2018 to 2019 – but since they split up she has kept her dating life out of the public eye.
