Sources have confirmed adult star Kagney Linn Karter’s cause of death aged 36.

Born in Houston, Texas, Karter began her career in the industry in the early 2000s.

She starred in films such as The Official Silence of the Lambs Parody and Not Married with Children XXX.

Karter achieved acclaim over her adult career, with many nominations – including top female performer of the year and best new starlet at the AVN awards.

But now, the devastating news of Karter’s death has been confirmed.

Karter was hugely successful in the adult film business, however, in more recent years, she’d moved away from the career that had made her famous and located to Ohio, where she took up pole dancing.

She initially worked in a studio before opening her own, Alchemy Pole Fitness.

Friends write on Kagney’s GoFundMe page: “She immediately warmed to the studio and all the students with an effortless grace, and it soon felt as if she had always been a part of the studio, from the very beginning.”

The statement continues: “Her students and staff remember her incredibly fondly, both as an intelligent and intuitive instructor and as an owner who did all she could to build a little community of her own, something of which she could be proud, somewhere she could feel safe and wanted.”

Karter’s tragic passing has led to tributes on social media, with one person penning: “RIP Kagney Linn Karter. Find peace and love.”

Another adds: “Very sad news.”

Elsewhere on the fundraiser bio, it reads: “Despite all of her many impressive accomplishments and talents, Kagney struggled with mental health issues as the years passed by.

“Even in her darkest days, however, she still showed up to the studio, always ready to learn, contribute, better herself in whatever small way she could manage.

“As alone as she undoubtedly felt within the confines of her own head, she continued to make an effort to show up for her friends and the community who cared about her.

“She fought her own battles with the same tenacity and drive she showed in every other area of her life, with as much strength as she could.”

The page concludes: “We humbly ask that you assist us raise funds for her mother, Tina, to lay Kagney to rest. 100% of these funds will be going to preparations for her memorial services.

“Any leftover funds will be given to a local animal rescue charity, as Kagney had a pure adoration for all of God’s creatures.”

TMZ reports that online records confirm Karter passed away last week in Cuyahoga County.

Cuyahoga County officials listed Karter’s cause of death as a ‘shotgun wound’, as per the Daily Star.

Karter’s GoFundMe page also claims she took her own life, stating: “Her final class with us was February 7th, less than two weeks before Kagney tragically took her own life in her home.”

At the time of writing, Karter’s fundraiser has exceeded its $8,000 target, with over $18,000 in donations.
